Best restaurant to go to in the Incline Village area. They do not to reservations for parties of under 6ppl, so make sure to go at an off time or be prepared to wait at the bar for 30 minutes. (It's worth it) Every time we go to Tahoe we come here one night and have always been so pleased! This last time we got the Jerk Prawns, Mac n Cheese, Onion Rings, Gumbo, and Honey BBQ Baby back ribs. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! The winner was the ribs, but everything was so good and went really well together too. You could create unique bites by blending the items, and I love small plates that give you enough and in a quality that warrants the price and has you leaving full and happy about your experience. That's Bite. See you next year!

I tried the Andouille Sausage & Shrimp Gumbo: yelp.com/biz_photos/bite… It's good, but the flavor is slightly overpowered by the black pepper. It would be a 5 out of 5 if it had half the black pepper. The chocolate bread pudding with chocolate bourbon sauce and ice cream is very good: yelp.com/biz_photos/bite… The bread pudding is "monkey bread style": it's a bunch of small crouton-sized bread chunks, soaked just enough to hold together. Also, the "chocolate bourbon sauce" is as good as you think it is, and highly addictive. The duck confit sliders are excellent: yelp.com/biz_photos/bite… The paper thin onion rings on the happy hour menu were great, and only $3: yelp.com/biz_photos/bite… But the lobster BLT sliders ($20) were a huge disappointment: yelp.com/biz_photos/bite… Not enough lobster flavor comes through. If they had substituted imitation crab, it would have tasted the same. They need to do something to bring out the lobster flavor, like maybe sauté the lobster in truffle butter first. The red wine from the Colchagua Valley of Chile was great, and only $5 on the happy hour menu. +1 star for the great bartender (Cat).

BLT (Lobster) was to die for. I wish it would have been my last bite! Evening star drink was also delicious. The ribs had a great, sweet sauce. Everything was just enough food to make us both very full. Great ambience, tasty drinks, fun atmosphere, and even better food. Would love to come back if I lived in Tahoe!

Always a fun experience. Staff is welcoming and food is delicious. A local favorite worth leaving the hotel to enjoy.

Typical Tahoe style: over priced, lousy ski bum service, mediocre menu

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! What a great find. We had dinner there the other night and were amazed at how good the food was. So many great options and fabulous service. Our waiter was patient with out large party and made sure we had everything we needed. Make sure to order the bread pudding. It was out of this world.

Only been here once, but I can see why people come here. The wait can get a little long during the dinner rush hour, but that's to be expected. I think we waited about an hour. Good thing they had drinks, so that we could entertain ourselves. It was really hard to find someone at the front to make sure they knew we were waiting for a table, but our actual server was super helpful and prompt with the water refills, taking orders, and getting the food out quickly. In terms of the food... you'd better be a couple, or a group or four. Everything comes perfectly divisible that way... any more or in between would be slightly awkward. Yes, the dishes are a little bit pricey, but it's kinda nice for a slightly fancier/cosier dinner with friends. 1. Bacon wrapped dates. Duh. Bacon. Get it. Delicious and perfectly made. $5 for 4. 2. Stuffed piquillo peppers. Yummy, but I don't know if I would pay $8 for this. 3. Duck confit slider. OMG get these. I love duck, and I love these a lot. Only four to a plate, but the duck is done very well and the combination of flavors just explode in your mouth! $13... not cheap but WORTH IT. 4. House made gnocchi. Didn't blow me away, definitely one of the less memorable dishes, but wasn't bad. Still tasty. $13... could pass up for way more delicious things. 5. Sweet chile glazed ribs. Oh my goodness. Only four ribs in this... but HOLY slide off the bone delicious rib taste! One of the best ribs I've ever had in my life. Also, the sauce is great! $3 a rib is pricey, but I would get it. 6 Moroccan spiced Colorado lamb meatballs. Could do without it. The chimichurri is good, the meatball is kind of average. $13 for 4 meatballs! 7. House cut paper thin onion rings. $5, done pretty well, pretty tasty, but nothing mindblowing. 8. Green chili mac n' cheese skillet. A lot of people seem to be a fan with it; it's good, but definitely kinda average compared to the rest. $8 for a small skillet worth. Goes pretty amazing with the rib sauce though... which was the waitress' suggestion, so there is that. Believe we also had the Rover and In a Nutshell drinks which were good and strong, but I'd have probably gotten something else. All and all, that was enough food for 4 guys and a girl, so... take that into consideration. We were all pretty stuffed walking out of that restaurant and were not disappointed in the slightest. Portions might be small, but the individual portions are pretty good (aka the meatball was like a slightly larger golf ball). Would come back for those sweet ribs and duck sliders for sure!

Go(a)t cheese? ....... :D In goat cheese paradise after dining here, sigh... Definitely try their sliders, the broccoli sautee and stuffed Jalepenos. Was perfect as small plates to share.Their mac and cheese was severely short of seasoning, hence the sole grey star. Fantastic friendly service and very easy casual ambiance. Do not miss this place if you are in that area,

Can I have one of these where I live?! AMAZING everything.... Food, service, atmosphere :) The ahi sliders hit every secret spot I ever knew existed, the cheese sliders are a fatties fantasy and the bread pudding is something I wouldn't mind being buried in before and after I die of a food coma :) happy eating!!!

Honestly, Bite is one of my favorite restaurants in Tahoe. I wish it was a little closer to Truckee! I love their "tapas" style - - great way to sample and share all the amazing things on the menu. Make sure you try their crispy risotto balls for an appetizer, yums! I am guilty of always ordering their yummy sliders. The BLT (BACON LOBSTER TOMATO, YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY) is my favorite creation. The Coconut Fried Chicken sliders are also my fav. They also have the best fries, ever. Safe to say we always leave this place stuffed and satisfied! It does get pretty crowded around dinner time. We usually have to wait 30 mins for 2 people but we always sit at the bar and have one of their signature cocktails while we wait and watch whatever game is on. They have amazing wine also. They have an Absinthe Sampler that I've been wanting to try, mostly because it just looks so cool haha! Their dessert menu is dangerous, do not look unless you want to sample everything, a sweet tooth's dream. The staff is great! Definitely make sure you eat here when you're in the area!

I must be really spoiled in the Bay Area, the food is good, but super small. Let me just say I am sooooooo grateful for the restaurants where I live!!

We read from YELP and Google the reviews and landed here. We were not disappointed. Exceptional food with a unique style of small portions so you pick. Lee than one selection. Atmosphere was very pleasant and we really appreciated the dining separated from the bar. Service was excellent with friendly and engaging staff. We will return for sure!

I did love this restaurant for a period of time. Specially their ahi Tuna sandwich. But one thing I noticed is all their food are in extremely high sodium level that after each meal there, I drank plenty of water and still don't feel comfortable. If the tasty flavor comes from extra salt, then the chef need to be retrained a bit.

Well....I've purposely waited a few days to write this review because I want to make sure I'm doing this place justice!!! Brace yourself....this is going to be one VERY long review!!! YOU MUST CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!!!! YOU ARE LETTING YOURSELF DOWN IF YOU DON'T!!! BEST RESTAURANT IN TAHOE!!! This place is AMAZING!!!!! Hands down in general, this is my 2nd favorite restaurant....ANYWHERE.....EVER!!!! 2nd only because my number 1 place is right on the ocean and closer to home than Tahoe. Bite has EVERYTHING figured out!!! This place is one well oiled operation!!! We went there twice and was blown away at how they have nailed every single thing!!! They know exactly what good service is, and how to perfectly execute it! I read their business philosophy online, and can't believe how much they perfected and executed exactly what they said. It's mind blowing! This is an absolute gem of a place!!! The atmosphere and vibe is spot on!!! Decor...awesome!!! Now onto the food, drink and service.... The service was exceptional! I have never in my entire life had such perfect service! "Sunny" mostly took care of us, but the other bartenders that were there both nights were also exceptional. They are spot-on in their philosophy of applying fine dining knowledge and experience with a casual style of service. They have it perfected! The place is super busy and they still make you feel at home and like your the only person sitting in the place! Unbelievable! They had a very knowledgeable answer for everything that I asked them about the menu etc. Even the busser lady was amazing!!! She was super polite, helpful, and very very attentive!!! Drinks - GREAT varieties of wine. I loved it!!! I had the Urban Garden the last time we were there, and once again...delicious!!! I'm usually not a gin drinker, but felt compelled to try this, and was glad I did! The Rose wine was great! Not too sweet. More dry which I appreciated. To finish, I had the sparkling rose. The only negative was that I knew my dining experience was coming to an end with the last sip. Major depression came upon us. Ha! Food - MIND BLOWING!!!!!! Can I get any more descriptive??!!!! Our favorites were the BLT (Bacon, LOBSTER & Roasted Tomato) Sliders and the Grilled Filet Mignon Bites. My husband was saying 3 days later how much he was still craving the sliders! They were INSANE!!!! And trust me...you get ALOT of lobster. There not skimpy!!! They hit every flavor profile! You could taste a proper amount of bacon, lobster, tomato etc. Just AMAZING!!! Same with the Filet Bites. I was trying so hard to pinpoint a certain spice and flavor in them, and I just couldn't figure it out. They were just amazing!!!!!! Between both trips, we also had the Green Chili Mac n Cheese, Honey Baby Back Ribs, Sea Scallops, Spinach Salad and the Sausage & Shrimp Gumbo! My spinach salad was another insanely delicious dish!! It was by far not over powered with beet flavor. The Fried red beets on top gave it amazing texture. EXACTLY what a salad like that needs. Had the perfect amount of acid. Just awesome! I even came across some roasted, salted beets in my local grocery store when I got home and snagged them immediately! Going to try and replicate!!! Sunny had recommended the Mac n Cheese & Honey Ribs together, so we did that the second time going there! Of course they were a MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!!! Scallops were cooked perfectly. My husband loved the gumbo. Yes, we went home with our food to-go both times because we were stuffed, but SO glad to have left overs the following day. Lastly, we had the chocolate bread pudding for dessert. As expected....it was out of this world!! The prices are spot-on for the amount and QUALITY of food you are getting! Outstanding!!! Honestly, I don't know a SINGLE THING that this place can do to improve. I've been in the industry myself for a while now, and from an outsiders perspective, this place seems like a place that anyone would be proud to work at! I recently worked at a place VERY similar to Bite in concept (American Tapas, high quality food), but Bite has the right philosophy. Tapas style concept should be executed with a CASUAL (yet attentive, knowledgeable and good) service way about it. Food that is being presented like that shouldn't be stuffy and formal. The food speaks for itself. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE BEGGING......PLEASE EXPAND OUT TO THE PALM SPRINGS AREA!!!!! We would be your BIGGEST advocates!!!! I know a couple restaurants out here that you would give some SERIOUS competition to!!! Talk about the best of both worlds.....Be up there in the summer when it's nice weather and busy, and be down here during the winter when it's super busy and awesome weather! You guys would do a killing out here. Hands down! Cheers Guys! Keep up the awesome work and CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR NEXT VISIT!!!!!! PS: Did I happen to mention that they have everything perfected? ;o)

So first off the food is great. I recommend the duck sliders. However, the service sucked. We sat at the bar and no one waited on us. Other waiters kept bringing us food that wasn't even ours. We finally asked the hottest if we could order and she became our waiter for the night. Idk what was up with the bartender but he ignored us the whole time. Never asked me if I wanted another drink. We waited about 40 minutes until we asked where are food was. Finally got our food then had to ask for our bill. It just would have been nice to be noticed by the bartender when everyone else was. If I'm in town I'll probably come again and not sit at the bar.

The Hubby and I have been here twice now and have not been disappointed. The first impression is not all that great as it's tucked away in a tired, nondescript strip mall with a couple of other restaurants and businesses. The first time we came there was a big party that had just been seated and we weren't going to be able to eat for about 40 minutes. We were a bit bummed but settled in with some drinks and chilled out. The wait staff was friendly and apologetic and checked in on us periodically to see how we were and to give us updates. It was actually worth the wait. The tapas were inventive and well-executed and my cocktail was excellent. A few items that are worth checking out: Moonrise Cheese plate mt tam cheese Vegetable empanadas Lamb meat balls with mint Apple turnover with Oporto We'll be back.

At the table that night we read that according to the company itself as many perhaps as 25% of reviews posted to the site are not real. Not real in the sense that real reviews are written by the faithful, as opposed to a 15 year-old in her Hello Kitty pajamas making 4 bucks a pop to say something nice. At the table that night I got to thinking that no pajama-clad contractor would be retained to yammer on about Bite. There's simply no need. With the fellows after a horrid round of golf in a sublime setting there was the immediate need to pour happiness into my belly filled only at the present with Dickensian emulsions. Incline has many choices. Being among the faithful, we consulted the red asterisk. Confounding matters, none of my closest brethren had anything to say about anything. I feared the pajamas. We stopped at Bite simply because it was right next to where we were when we made the query. There was a gas station and a little strip mall. I was hella dubious. In we went. And like, poof, dubiousity was vanquished simply by the vibe upon entering. Hostess gives us choices which are always lovely and we elected to go bar table because it was tall and in a bar and that was precisely what I was requiring at that particular point in time. Lissy took care of us. Lissy was perfect a mind reader almost task mistress except i could see her laughing behind her eyes. Ahi sliders, Moroccan meatballs, stuffed wee peppers on toasts, salads, risotto balls. I never remember what I've eaten when I take the keyboard in hand to give you tips. Never except for now and I recalled the above from memory without having to consult the menu because ... It was that good. It was so good it will affect my choice of destinations on future trips to the vacation paradise except for all the people so as to be closer to here. Besties - I am not wearing any pajamas.

Ambiance, food, and service were exceptional. I loved the Alaskan willow art work. Had a great time with friends and family; that probably helped me to give it the 5 stars too.

One of my favorite places in town. Although there is no outdoor seating or nice views, the food is great and the menu items rotate fairly regularly. Whether you are in the mood to share or are looking for just a few bites of great food, definitely a place to try. Tip: they often will modify the count of an item to fit your table... Just ask.

We went based off the Yelp reviews and we would certainly go back. The ambience was more pub like than expected but that was totally fine by us. Their beer selection was above average as well as the service. We ordered the Chinese chicken salad which was an above average salad but it's a salad after all. The Ahi sliders were terrific. The tuna was seared to perfection and the Wasabi flavored sauce was great. The bun was surprising being almost a dinner roll, but it worked and I loved it. Then we had the lamb meatballs. They were different. The sauce and the lamb were full of flavor and cooked medium with a bit of pink in them, not sure if that was there intent. They were good but not for your un-adventerous eaters. Also, is was a bit pricy. Yelp had it at 2 dollar signs but I would put it at 3. Though it was worth it.

5 stars across the board for service, food, creative cocktails and ambiance. We had the gumbo, lettuce wraps, & filet minon "bites." Everything was perfectly executed and the price was reasonable. WIll definitely go back next time we're in town!

Went here with a group after a long day of skiing. The food was awesome, although the atmosphere was little fancier than I had hoped for. We shared a bunch of the dishes, which I guess is the concept. We did struggle a little with sharing across our whole group (about 8 of us), but ordering two of everything helped. All of the dishes were very tasty, but some were better values than others. I'll list the dishes I can remember and star the ones I thought were good deals (they were all tasty!) Bacon Wrapped Dates Bite Deviled Eggs Tuscan White Bean Dip* Ahi Sliders Free Range Chicken Hash (with a fried egg)*** Pan Seared Scallops Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Green Chili Mac &Cheese Skillet* Andouille Sausage Gumbo Fall Salad I think coming here with a group of 3/4 people would be much easier to deal with. 8 was a little tough, and 2 wouldn't be economical enough to try different things. Would defintely come here again. It also seems like a place that switches up their menu, so I'd be excited to try new things they came up with.

I love bite! I went here once on my birthday and our waitress was so sweet and made me actually feel really special! My favorite is the ahi or goat cheese sliders. I don't recommend coming here super hungry or you will spend a lot of money. The drinks are really unique and delicious and the bar is great!

  • J.T. C.

The service and food were excellent. I sat at the bar and had the Lobster Sliders (fantastic!) and a few of their draft beer selections. The bar gets very busy in the evening, too much work for one barkeep, so fortunately they had two.

This is our favorite restaurant in Incline. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere very pleasant. The BLT lobster sliders and the Glazed Ribs are our favorites but we tried many dishes here and they're all excellent. The prices are reasonable too.

Bacon wrapped dates were outstanding! Other choices were good: lobster BLT, filet minion bites, wedge salad

  • Christine S.

Every time we eat here we have a great experience. We did notice (very recently) that the filet bites portion was quite small, much smaller than usual. We are not sure if this is cost cutting or ? but the quality was superb. This is not an inexpensive experience, but it is consistently high quality food- well sourced and expertly prepared. I get the sense the chef/owners have a real passion for food and what they do. The service is professional, not overly chatty, but quite knowledgeable. We love the filet bites and the sliders. The key lime pie bites and warm apple things with caramel are delicious. You cannot go wrong, even with soup/salad at the bar. We are willing to pay for the quality, preparation and unique flavor combinations that they provide.

Great spot for tapas when staying in Incline Village. Large salads, two meaty sliders per order, four servings per small plate and perfectly sized deserts. Friendly service made the experience even better!! Why not 5 stars? No espresso !! Booo! Although regular coffee was tasty

  • Montag F.

This is a great restaurant and please ignore all the people complaining about portion size and/or price. Four of us ordered seven dishes and brought a bottle of wine. Bill was $80 including an (I believe) exorbitant, but typical corkage of $18. All of us agreed that the grilled cheese sandwich was to die for, the salad, ribs, and other stuff delicious. It's a small place and was fairly crowded, but the service was great. Don't miss this restaurant if you like tapas and small plates as much as I do.

    (5)
  • Mike S.

We only went here because a local had suggested it was a great place to eat. When we walked in the paintings on the wall and staff looked pretty legit, so we weren't too worried. The menu wasn't very big for a tapas style restaurant but we decided on brussel sprouts, filet mignon, and ribs. If it weren't for the wine, I would have dined and dashed. Just kidding, but the food wasn't that good. The sprouts were seasoned very strange and the mignon had a weird taste in the middle. All in all, I would not go back here.

Family with small kids, got a bit of everything. Loved the Mac and cheese, burger sliders, kids loved the Ahi solders. Most of us didn't love the duck slider.

Great food - poor service. Our waitress acted like she was serving in LA- it's Tahoe sweetie. Even the hostess was condescending and unwelcoming. Such a let down from a couple who wanted to love it.

  • Jesse B.

This place is awesome, especially for North Lake Tahoe which has limited places to go that are good. Tuna sliders and short ribs were my favorite. Fried chicken sliders were nice too if you like coconut. If you're there in the winter get the homemade eggnog.

My boyfriend and I have been living in Tahoe for over a year, and finally made it to Bite after several recommendations. We were very impressed with the food and service. We had crispy risotto cheese balls, jerk shrimp with jicama, ahi sliders and goat cheese sliders, green chili mac & cheese and Prohibition Ale on tap and La Rubia: blood orange infused vodka, Dubonnet, & dry vermouth. The Ahi sliders and La Rubia were the Facebook featured items of the day, and were 25% off when we mentioned their featured status to our server - a great social media promotion! Delivery was perfectly timed and everything was fresh and delicious: especially the goat cheese sliders! I agree with Dustin (below), our server was friendly and the support staff was excellent, bringing drinks and cleaning plates right on time. I highly recommend Bite during your next night out in North Tahoe.

Oh, Bite Restaurant, what has happened to you? I used to love your food, perfectly executed dishes tickling my palate with intriguing combinations of tastes. The dishes were fresh, vibrant, full of flavor. When I visited the Incline Village for the first time, I found it hard to believe that a restaurant like this could exist here. I am not sure what has happened, but my last experience was about as uplifting as watching an elephant sinking into a tar pit. Our meal kicked-off with delicious walnut appetizers, followed by the risotto balls and our expectations kept rising, because every dish was delicious and beautifully executed. Once we were finished with the appetizers, first cracks started to appear. The ribs were still pretty good, but the pork sliders were just kind of okay. Just okay, did feel like a big letdown, being used to the top notch quality here. Then the things got only worse - scallops were reeking really bad, they did not smell fresh and the lamb balls were stone cold in the middle. What was happening? In my mind I started doing a reality check... Are we still in the same restaurant? Am I having some stroke-induced sensory hallucinations? What are all these pink elephants doing here? But no, unfortunatelly we were still at the same restaurant, I did not have a stroke and pink elephants do not exist. We have cancelled our other orders and asked to talk to the manager. The only positive experience was, that the manager has handled our complaints really well and has appologized. For that I will give 1 extra star. I really hope that the food improves - this used to be my favorite place in the Incline Village.

Fun, upscale (for Tahoe) and trendy. We shared the risotto balls (very good), arugula salad (pretty good), fried cheese slider (very good) and BBQ prawns and grits (very good). Definitely would come back to try more things on the menu or hang at their cool bar.

Very tasty but pricy! Two Ahi sliders for $14? Small portions overall, even with the salads. Other restaurants in the area had 3x their size for salads. Sure, their food was fresh. Service was friendly and quick. Good interior decor and ambiance. That's about it! = )

The lentil lettuce wraps are very good. Kids enjoyed the sliders. The vegetable sides are tasty and bigger than expected. My daughter says the summer salad had a delicious mix of fresh flavors and that the sweet peach in the salad was the sweetest she ever had.

We ordered 6 or 7 items and they were all fabulous!!!! Those sliders are the bomb! Was NOT expecting this place to be so good -- go Incline! The staff was very friendly, too. Nice atmosphere. My new favorite spot.

Great spot in Incline Village. Literally never had a bad bite throughout all courses, start to finish. We shared the cheese plate, ahi and BLT sliders, green chili Mac and cheese along with filet mignon bites and ribs. Couldn't forget the chocolate bread pudding for dessert, incredible. Overall our two favorite were the ahi sliders and ribs. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting.

Bite is still good. The pan seared scallops were great. I wish it wasn't quite so loud, but I guess that is to be expected with a popular place.

Very enjoyable food. Here on a Monday and packed with people. Food was a bit slow to come out but everyone seated at the same time so it is expected. Very accommodating staff. In the end every course was devoured by both adults and kids. We had 8 and couldn't get a table for 8 so we put our teens and preteens together. They were very professional even with a table of kids. Tried many dishes. Preferred the scallops, lobster blt and ago sliders but all were good.

  • Holly M.

Great meal. The couple vegetarian/fish options were scrumptious! (fish tacos and lettuce wraps) A bit bigger than Spanish tapas. We ordered a shared plate each and a side of sweet potato fries and we were satisfied (some ice cream later!). Everything looked really good, flavorful, and thoughtful presentation. The outside of the restaurant is deceiving: it is nice inside and you would want to change out of your wet beach clothes.

delicious food, and (in my opinion) one of the few solid, classy, non-kitschy, non-tourist places for dinner in Tahoe. A bit too pricey for multiple meals in one weekend, but good, nonetheless.

I was going to write a great review for the restaurant. I had great food, delicious drinks. But then I checked my bank account and saw that the amount on my bill that I signed and authorized was different from what I was charged. Very upset. I cannot believe that restaurants allow the server to change check amounts after a patron has left and signed the bill. How rude. I won't be coming back here. Too bad, food was amazing.

Our family of 12 was looking for a place to have a birthday celebration dinner in Incline, which can be pretty difficult. Bite was happy to accommodate us. The American Tapas style allowed us to order almost everything on the menu and to try it all. It was a fairly loud environment, which allows us to be the boisterous group we are. Service was great and everyone tasted something they absolutely loved. The dish highlights were the Honey Bourbon Shrimp, Filet Mignon Bites and the Grilled Cheese Sliders. The Price was on the high end end, but we would expect that in Incline Village. Overall, a really good experience.

Just had an awesome meal again at Bite. This time they had Crispy Goat Cheese Sliders with a sweet tomato jam and basil, and they were heavenly. Fish tacos amazing per usual as was dessert. We had chocolate cake and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Once again, they knocked it out of the park.

Bite is pretty much the best place to eat in the Tahoe area, but a few things need improving: 1. the location, and 2. the service. In regards to 1., Bite isn't located in a visually pleasing area, but if you don't mind looking out onto a parking lot, then it should bother you at all. Perhaps the good food makes up for the lack of view; It really depends on your priorities. In regards to 2., on the whole, I believe the service is good, but I have had one or two Debbie Downer waiters. That said, I never leave in a bummed out mood or anything.. All in all, I'd say it's definitely worth going to. I really liked the grilled bread, as well as the other dishes, of course!

We read so many positive reviews and had very high expectations. The food was good but to be honest it didn't seem to rise to the level we expected based upon prior reviews. The Ahi sliders were terrible. They were cold, mushy, and not much flavor. I give it a 2. The bacon, lobster, tomato sliders were excellent. On par with other reviews. I give it a 5. The scallops were excellent, on par with other reviews. I give it a 4. The beet salad was terrible. There were no beets! Well, literally it was really a spinach salad with some scattered very tiny bits of beets. The dressing wasn't that tasty. Honestly, it's ridiculous to sell it as a beet salad because it wasn't. I give it a 2. The sweet potato fries were pretty good, but didn't stand out since I have had sweet potato fries in a million pubs and just as good. I give it a 3.5. The cocktails were awesome. Specialty drinks, very well executed. Give it a 5. So that's how I come to my overall rating of 3 stars. Would have given 3.5 if that was an option. If this restaurant was in San Francisco it would never survive. Because it's in incline it stands out better than average.

Very nice for a small meal. A bit loud, but the younger crowd seems to like that. Staff is friendly, service good.

The decor is lovely. The staff were friendly and efficient. The bacon wrap dates and ah sliders we good, not amazing but good. The burger slider worked for the kids. But the filet medallions were burnt outside and that ruined them. So sad, there is so much potential.

Compliments to the Chef! Pleasantly surprised with dinner on 6/21. We found it on Yelp and the reviews were right....the food is delicious. You can't go wrong especially with the great prices.

Bite of bliss! Bite of awesomeness! Can go on and on... Essentially this place rocks! Great tapas place all around! The service was great both times! Kumara and Lissy both gave superb service with good suggestions, efficiency and kindness! Amanda was our runner and she was great too always making sure our food came out quickly and keeping our intermittent needs like glasses full met! The food was better with every bite we tried! The short rib sliders with onion straws was good but the best sliders were the ahi tuna. The wasabi and ginger aioli was fabulous! The flavor bursts and probably the best thing on the menu! The fiery honey glazed ribs were next and they also had a ton of flavor and were so tender! The gumbo gave a kick and was quite filling, the spinach was a good balance with pine nuts and raisins, the lamb meatballs were like a deconstructed gyro, and the filet bites with mushrooms and onions were also so tender. All cooked perfectly! The kids Mac and cheese was a big hit.... Homemade and a nice balance without swimming in the cheese. The desserts were just as good... My fave was the apple pie with caramel and creme. Nice and hot with the crust nice and flaky not overpowering. The kids fave was the ice cream sandwiches with fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies...... And the flour less chocolate cake with hazelnuts on top was the first flourless cake I actually like. With our group of people and multiple visits we were able to try a lot without getting stuffed. Multiple positive experiences and big kudos to the staff and chef! Only recommendation is get there early, they open promptly at 5 and they get super busy! But no matter how busy it got the service and quality remained high!

We had a fabulous meal we recommend the lettuce cups and the lamb meatballs. They were absolutely fabulous. The white bean dip and the bread pudding bites were also quite good. Reservations recommended on high season weekends, but they were able to seat us at the bar. The Copper Lantern cocktail was good, different with some complex edges. A bit on the high energy noisy side.

Great place to stop for a light meal. Good wine and food. Small environment. Easy to pass up if you're not looking for it. Staff was ok, a little snooty but knowledgable. You will crave the fish tacos. Interesting and tasty menu.

Solid experience every time we eat here. Took 10 minutes for the hostess to meet us at the podium last visit but I think they were just understaffed that night. Good food, good ambiance and great place to go with friends because they have mostly small plates which are fun to share! Ahi tuna sliders, Mac and cheese and ribs are delicious!

Amazing place! Went here last night with my family and was thoroughly impressed. I'm not much of a tapas person but this place made me change my mind. The good was incredible and so was the service. I would recommend this place to anyone, including people like me who aren't into tapas much.

Every single bite was delicious! The BLT (bacon, lobster, tomato) slider was dreamy. As in, I'm dreaming about going back for another one right now! We also loved the scallops served on a bed of mashed potatoes with shaved fennel and a citrus sauce. Beautiful mixture of flavors. Even the cheeseburgers sliders were above and beyond. There were a few issues with service and there was a bit of a wait but everyone who worked there was extremely nice and the food and good vibes more than made up for it!

Overall a good, high end bar to go to. There's a bar section when you first walk in and on the left side, there's a dining area. They don't allow for you to make reservations ahead of time so you have to go early to put your name in. The ambiance is dark and it's a good place for a date. Food is very good but in small portions. Went with 2 others and we got the fries, lobster sliders (they did not taste like lobster at all) - $20, apple desert - all which were good. I think the food could have been better given the prices but still a good place to check out while there.

I would give Bites a 3.5 stars. We arrived during Valentine's Day with no reservations around 7 and only had to wait about 15 minutes. The server (shoulder length blonde hair) was really nice and friendly. Food came out pretty quick too considering the restaurant was quite full. The onion rings and fries were good. But it wasn't anything special, just your slightly above average bar food, though the fries could have been crispier. The cheeseburger sliders came with mayo, BD should have asked so he had to scrape it off but he enjoyed it. The duck confit sliders are very sweet. It's the jam they put on it. Along with the aioli, it makes for soggy buns too. I wouldn't order it again. I liked the risotto balls, though I'm not a fan of chipolte flavor. The pesto sauce that came with it was AMAZING, though. I used it as a dip for everything! So garlicky good. The fiery ribs were a bit tough and the sauce was too sticky and sweet for me but BD loved it. The deviled eggs were MEH. Pass it up, they've been chilling in the fridge for a while, the top layer of the yolk had hardened and it's got a strong mustard base. The grilled cheese was nice. I enjoyed the crispness of the bread and it was super cheesy. For dessert we had the ice cream cookie sandwich. Huge ice cream to hard crunchy chocolate chip cookie ratio. I should have tried something not so "vanilla". I've had better elsewhere. All in all the food is good, there were some hit and misses in the flavor department for my preference. But to hear some friends rave about it like it was comparable to Bay Area food is a pretty bold statement and not really true. Going back to what I said, it's like above average bar food. Bit definitely a nice change to the usual Tahoe grub. Side note: BD doesn't eat seafood and since we were sharing I didn't order any. Maybe their seafood is out of this world, but until I get the chance to try it out, a generous 3.5 stars it is.

Ahi sliders are amazing. It is like ahi sushi, but on a ban instead of on a rice. I was skeptical at first, but it worked really well. Everything else was good and the service was great. The butter squash soup had nice smoky flavor. The onion rings are very very thin and not greasy.

Bite is always my go-to when I'm back in town and need a little bit of a break from the ultra-casual (though it is by no means dressy or formal). I love the matchstick fries, Chinese chicken salad and almost everything else they serve. Whether out for a date, grabbing a drink with my sister, reconnecting with old friends or sharing dinner with family I always have a good meal and a couple of great drinks. The bartenders are always open to mixing up something off the menu according to their ideas that night and the atmosphere is always buzzing with locals and tourists alike. Luckily Bite is open "late" (for Incline) and is a great alternative to the sports bars in town.

Drinks are very good. Food is inconsistent & over priced Service is just okay. Now, I want to point a couple of things. First, the bar tender who told us that the burnt grill marks on the filet mignon were normal because its grilled, really frustrated us. She didn't take the time to understand what we were explaining to her. As a result, she sounded knowledgable about steaks. Basically, she didn't know what she was talking about. Also, she just made it so we questioned the cleanliness of this restaurants grill. If she meant to say that there will always be grill marks on the filet because its grilled, then yes, she is right. However, when a grill is dirty, the grill will leave burnt grill marks on the meat, which makes it taste like charcoal. In the future, even if it super busy, clean your grill often. You will loose customers otherwise. Overall, this place was a bit of a disappointment, actually. :(

Bite had been my favorite restaurant in Incline. I have eaten there many times in the past 14 months. Usually the tapas are really good even if the portions are rather small for the price. I was there with friends on 04/20/2013 and it was my first below par experience. We started with the walnuts which are fine. The risotto balls were really good. The honey baby back ribs have been on the menu for the past year and were excellent. From there, things started on downward spiral. The short rib sliders were very average. The scallops smelled very fishy. Like they were fresh several days ago. So we sent these back. The Moroccan Lamb meatballs were raw in the center. I have had these before and they were really good. But this time they were cold and raw in the center. The waitress proceed to argue that they were meant to be severed medium rare but these were raw in the center. To be fair the manager did apologies for our bad experience and did try to make amends. Anyone can have a bad night. I hope our experience on this night was a one-off bad night because has been a very good restaurant in the past.

Busy on a Sunday July evening. We were peckish and not super hungry so we got some small plates to share. The coconut fried chicken sliders were good but overpriced at $11 for a pair with no sides. The green chili mac and cheese had some good heat but wasn't the gooey kind of m&c. Moroccan meatballs were tasty (4 to an order) and made up for the salt that the m&c was missing. Didn't come with enough pita triangles though. Overall, solid but overpriced.

Finally had dinner here last week after wanting to visit forever. I was not disappointed. I love appetizers versus full plates of food, but not a lover of a lot of dishes at Spanish tapas places so this is perfect for me! We were a party of 6 so we tried a lot of different things. And everything was delicious. Every single thing. But I might have died and gone to heaven after eating the goat cheese sliders. O.M.G. The spicy mac and cheese was awesome. The ahi sliders were delicious. The risotto balls were yummy. The wasabi deviled eggs were incredible. And don;t even get me started on the desserts. I'm not sure you could go wrong ordering anything. They also have a great cocktail menu and yummy bubbly by the glass. The service was fantastic and the ambiance was nice - a little city thrown into a mountain town :) I highly recommend it.

After reading the reviews I expected so much more than what we got. Over priced, and only so~so food. First let me tell you what was good. The gumbo was definately yummy. The ahi tacos were great, as were the scallops. The service was also quite good. The rest was disappointing. The BLT (bacon, lobster, tomatoe) sliders were awful. They were mostly tasteless, and the lobster was actually bitter. The shrimp stuffed with churiso was not good. Period. The sweet potatoe fries that others raved about were over cooked and tough. They were dry and hard to chew. Plus they put cinnamon on them....yuck. Finally, everything was over priced. Four scallops for $14? Two sliders for $20? Beware if you come expecting $$ prices like yelp shows. This is definately a $$$ priced place. Plus it was very noisey.......no carpet to buffer the sound.

We came here for their happy hour special but found out that they were not doing it on the day we were there. We stayed for a drink and a couple of small plates. The food was good. My wife had brussel sprouts and liked them. I had bacon wrapped dates and they were also good. The drinks were good as well. It was a fine experience, but everything was a bit pricey and not too remarkable.

Eight of us dined here on a Monday evening. We were seated promptly. The atmosphere was good, reminded us of an old Japanese restaurant. Although we didn't stop at the bar. It looked cool and was very open. Service was friendly and good. Servers were attentive too. They have a decent menu with lots of sliders. The wine list is extensive if not a little expensive. We had the following items and I tried them all: Smoked bacon wrapped dates. Very flavorful and tender. Great Green eggs and Ham. The filling was good. The egg itself was tough. Risotto Balls with 40 clove garlic tomato sauce. The risotto balls were cooked properly but they lacked a lot of flavor, the cheese could have been stronger. The 40 clove garlic tomato sauce was a little weak. I think it was missing about 39 cloves. Sliders: Beef short ribs BLT-Bacon, Lobster and Tomato Duck Confit All the sliders were great. The buns were tender, the insides were very flavorful, tender and there was a lot product in between the buns. Scallops-They smelled fishy and tasted very salty along with being slightly overcooked (chewy). Moroccan meatballs. These were overcooked and very chewy. The spices were heavy on the front end. Overpowering. There wasn't a lot of flavor either, maybe it was cooked out. A special of the evening was Sheppard's pie. WOW this was the best thing that I tried. Flavors were well balanced. Lamb had great flavor. This should be on their menu every night. I tried my friends steak, I believe it was a rib eye. I asked him how he ordered it and he said medium rare. It was on the short side of well done. He agreed it was overcooked for what he ordered. Our bill was 105 per couple with tip. This included one bottle of wine we purchased and several of our own. They were nice enough not to charge a corkage fee. I like tapas restaurants because they let you try small plates of a lot of different things. My overall impression was 3 stars. Yes, service was good but too many of the dishes had issues. I thought the cost was to high compared to other places I've eaten. I know this is Incline but still this was about 15-20 dollars over the average tapas prices. I wouldn't come back again but some of the other people we went with are frequent fliers so they will return. WAIT-I might go back just to eat the Sheppard's pie. I'd have to call and make sure they had it.

A stressful long day at work, so the boss and I decided on the spur of the moment to come here and have ourselves a good old-fashioned bitch fest. Sometimes, you just need a bitch fest to let it all out. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad ($12) which was really nice and citrusy, with good chunks of grilled chicken and the ahi sliders ($11) - you only get two; pricy but every mouthful was delightful. Tea was $2.50. The boss ordered the gumbo soup ($8), grilled jerk prawn ($12 for one skewer of perhaps 6 medium sized shrimp), and a small mound of sautéed spinach ($6). The last course, a flourless chocolate cake ($8) was to die for. Four tiny mouthfuls of chocolate love. We literally scraped every bit of it off the plate. Come expecting gorgeous flavors and a high price tag, but every BITE is worth it.

It takes a lot to get five stars from me. Bite did it with room to spare. Following the trail of Yelp bread crumbs, we slid into Bite on a Monday night and were lucky enough to get the famed "Christie" as our server. The girl has the art of serving down pat, from a warm greeting and obvious pride in her work to total timeliness when it comes to serving, clearing and engaging in conversation at appropriate times. We loved her! The Yelpalanche of positive reviews led us to start with the Ahi sliders and BLT (bacon lobster tomato) sliders. While the BLT sliders didn't disappoint, the Ahi sliders were the clear winner in that round. The Ahi was perfectly cooked and the wasabi aioli added a nice kick. There was plenty of lobster loaded into the BLT, but that didn't justify the MP of $20. We may skip those the next time around. Next was a baby greens salad with roasted pears, maple walnuts, parmesan reggiano and walnut vinaigrette. Perfectly cold, fresh and crisp, and the flavors blended perfectly. Under the Small Plates section, we channeled Yelp (again) and went for the Fiery Honey Baby Back Ribs and the Grilled Filet Mignon Bites. Never in my life would I have thought that filet mignon would come in second to *anything* but this was a first. The ribs freaking ROCKED. Both hubby and I agreed they were the best ribs we'd ever had, bar none. While the filet mignon held its own, it would have been better before the ribs--I think we'd have appreciated it more. Yelpers have yet to steer us wrong when they say, "Save room for dessert." And so we did. Barely. At Christie's advice, we went for the hot, house-made apple turnovers. Holy moley. They were served with a baby scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and drizzled with the most incredible spiced caramel sauce. Just breathtaking. Bite is in a class all its own when it comes to doing food, and doing it well. They don't spoil your appetite by bringing out bread--they know the real stuff is worth waiting for. By getting small plates of various foods, you get to experience multiple tastes, rather than committing to just one serving of, say, spaghetti and meatballs. Service is fast, efficient, friendly and spot-on in every way. Each member of the staff that we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful. For a restaurant hidden in a strip mall, it's a gem of a place. We can't wait to go back!

We were staying at Northstar. We took a day trip to South Lake. After a long day in the snow we stumbled upon Bite! We could not have been more lucky! We had no idea what town we were in, but didn't care! The fried risotto balls stuffed with mozzarella cheese were awesome! The BLT sliders (L is for Lobster) were off the hook! The filet bites with blue cheese and Demi glaze were delicious. Followed all this up with Bourbon glazed bread pudding! What an ending to the perfect day! Thanks Yelp!

When BLT equals "Bacon, Lobster, Tomato" you know you're in for a treat! This is our go to place here in Incline for reasons such as the BLT-Sliders mentioned above as well as the Ahi-Sliders, the crazy good Key Lime Pie-Sliders and the Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich-Sliders. So yeah basically I keep coming back for all of their sliders! Hmm I might need help... or another slider! :)

Absinthe options were a huge surprise, service was awesome, creative small plates weren't lacking and they were very child friendly. Empanadas with puff pasty dough melt in your mouth and the cheese sandwiches with pesto are indulgent. Chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches are also amazing but nothing tops the absinthe sampler! The over use of TV in the bar area pulls down the upscale nature and mixes in sports bar patrons and the volume level of customers is high in the dining area, I could barely hear people at my own table due to the boisterous drinkers going on at surrounding tables - my daughter was covering her ears just to give you a sense...

This place was recommended. Short and simple it was NOT worth it. Drinks were normal price $7 , food was only slightly high $14 to $29 , service was obviously pushing more items because they knew something you might not. The menu was dark colored with small print and had minimal choices. Bring a flashlight. But here is where they FAILED big time. We ordered philly steak sliders. They were $7 each. The plate came with 2 so $14. They were tiny. Not just small but tiny with some small cubes of steak and a small piece of bell pepper. I'm talking free appetiser food and not very good even if it was free. We also ordered ribs. They were tasty and well prepared but they were quite literally half ribs. They were about 2 1/4" long and there were four on the plate with very little meat. Were talking even if ribs were $20 a pound which would be REALLY EXPENSIVE this would be less than $4 worth of ribs on the plate. If this restaurant was offering a view or off the hook atmosphere well that might be different but this place offers pretty much nothing but average drinks. Don't go there if you are hungry unless you want to order $150 worth if sub par tapas.

We came here for dinner based on the reviews during Christmas week. We didn't have reservations but we thought we would be fine since it was just past 5pm. Though the restaurant was nearly empty, the server told us that they couldn't seat us until after 9pm. The host could have easily accommodated us but he didn't like the fact that we didn't have reservations. We are Tahoe part-timers and it's a bit frustrating eating out the last 2 weeks of December.

Bites is a newer trendy cute place in Incline. They serve their food Tapas style basically "small bites". Everything is for sharing and just small bites. We ordered the Ahi sliders which all the reviews talk about. Amazing. I order a bowel of the tequila chile lime soup- its so good, nice an warm and soothing going down your throat on a cold winter day. It also has a nice heat of spice to it. Then we got Tuscan bites which is basically small grilled cheese with tomatoes in it. Loved it! Lastly we got one of the specials which was filet Mignon shepherds pie. Now this was awesome it should be on their menu as a regular dish. Oh and second place in Incline that has blue cheese stuffed olives!

Love, love, love me some Bite! It is a must when we visit Tahoe and we take all of our friends and family as well. A group of us came here for dinner so we were able to try just about everything on their tapas menu. Ahi Sliders with Arugula ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Sabh… ), Pickled Ginger and Wasabi Aioli - The Ahi was seared to perfection the wasabi and ginger brought the slider together in perfect harmony. If you are going to order one thing I would suggest this one. Craig's Green balls: yelp.com/biz_photos/Sabh… Risotto Balls: yelp.com/biz_photos/Sabh… Short Rib Sliders: yelp.com/biz_photos/Sabh… Paella with Prawns, Andouille Sausage, Chicken, Asparagus and Tomatoes - not so tasty at all. I've had better Paella just about everywhere I've done. The sauce that brought the whole paella together was so bland and the rice grains weren't cooked through House Cut Sweet Potato Fries with Creole Maple Mustard ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Sabh… ) - Who would have ever thought maple and mustard would go good together, but it definitely did make the fries taste even better. I really enjoyed the meal we had and will probably come back again when I go to Lake Tahoe again.

Food is always delicious. Ahi sliders are consistent every time and the best thing on the menu. Unfortunately, service can be hit or miss. Recently we had a very rude and surprisingly smug waitress who came to take our order with her arms crossed, barely made eye contact, very short and cut us off. We understand that you're busy but customer service is key - all of us who have waited tables know that you kill it with kindness. Serving 101. We were trying to be playful and the blonde with high arched eyebrows shut us down. The one thing about Tahoe is that you never know if you're serving someone who makes $40K a year or someone who disguised in a t-shirt as a multimillionaire and tips 200% on the bill total every time. Let's just say if we didn't care about the rest of the super kind staff who pools the tips, there wouldn't have been a tip at all for this waitress.

YUMMY!!! It's hard to find a restaurant in Tahoe that could compete with a San Francisco restaurant. This restaurant can!! I have a house close by and visit about 10 times a year so I am very familiar with the area. They have great food and a cool vibe. I can't say enough!

We were really looking forward to Bite - we went early in our 5-day Tahoe trip in case it was so good we wanted to go back a second time. No need to pre-plan, it wasn't that good! We enjoyed a taste of tomato soup, sliders, dates, risotto balls, and shrimp. No real favorites - but the short rib sliders were very good. The server forgot our salad - which was a shame as it was the only vegetable we ordered! By the time we realized it wasn't coming, we weren't interested in it and didn't mention it. I found the women who expedited the food to be very friendly, but our server wasn't at all. She dropped the dessert menu off at our table without a word to us - it was so rude. The food was good, but nothing memorable. Luckily we parked near Fredricks Fusion Bistro and we got a look at their menu and decided to go there the next night- that was our favorite meal of the trip!

BITE is BOMB You need to save room for desert because as good as the food is, the desert is amazing. Great food preperation and everything has rich flavor and taste. They even have a happy hour (for literally an hour) from 5pm - 6pm on weekdays...some great deals on the food and drink. I have gone here with friends, family, dates, and more...they always love the food and never leave disappointed.

OMG. OMG. OMG. i've been to tahoe HOW many times and didn't know about this place? i'm ashamed of myself. i am a foodie which means in my mind = i love food. it doesn't need to be fancy, upscale, be in a language i don't understand, or cost your entire week's paycheck, it just needs to be down right, heavenly. A circus of flavors in your mouth, per se. This is what the Lobster BLT was at Bite. My family and I ordered like half the menu (it seemed), so we could share (aka: steal other people's food if we liked theirs better). I definitely made the right choice when I ordered the BLT. I literally am speechless. When I ate it however, I was making plenty of moans and groans of happiness. Proceeded with signs of despair when only sauce drippings were left on my plate. Ok, enough about the BEST thing on the menu, the others I sampled were great too. We got the silver dollar fish tacos, tuscan grilled cheese, cheeseburger sliders, ahi sliders, deviled eggs, sweet potato and regular fries, and because we obviously didn't have enough for dinner, we had ice cream sandwiches and apple turnover bites. I think we ordered one fry too many. I nearly had to be rolled home, but it was worth it. Our server, Christie, was awesome and definitely knew the dishes and expressed how much she loved working at a restaurant where the food is top notch. Go here. get the Lobster BLT. and send one to me via refrigerated mail carrier too.

Everything was fantastic including the owner Thomas. Great service, staff was friendly without being over bearing and worked together with a smile. Food was amazing. Had a lovely meal for 10 here this past week. Service was consistently good. Friendly, even for our large party (including a toddler), which is not easy to do. Food was consistently interesting and good. We probably shared 15-20 plates. Highlights for me were the baby back ribs, moroccan spiced lamb meatballs, sweet potato fries and dessert sampler. I'd eat here if we had one in Phoenix.

This was a great place to go for an upscale dinner. A highly recommended place from a friend so I was excited to try it, especially since I love tapas! We started with the risotto balls and the short rib sliders. The risotto balls were perfectly fried and the tomato sauce was yummy. The slider was also very good. Next we had the vegetable empanadas and grilled fish tacos. in my opinion, the empanadas were just ok but my hubby really liked them. The fish tacos were cooked well, and pretty good. Our last 2 dishes were the lamb meatballs and a side of Brussels sprouts. Personally, the Brussels sprouts were not made to my liking. I like it when they're roasted until soft and these were still really crunchy. The lamb meatballs were tender and came with a delicious chimichurri sauce. While I didn't notice the amount of garlic when I put the sauce on the meatballs, i think i overdid it with the sauce because my mouth was garlicky for the rest of the night. Not the usual tapas, but this was supposed to be new American cuisine. For example, I would never have expected sliders on a tapas menu. Great wine menu, good ambiance and good service. This place would be rated 5 stars if they made the portions a little smaller for their "small" plates and charged a little less for everything. I would've liked to try some more dishes. Overall, while none of the dishes were spectacular, it is still a pretty good place in the Tahoe area.

Like everyone else says, the ahi tuna sliders are a must! The fish tacos are so so. The dish I enjoyed the most was the spinach. I wish they had a more expansive menu, especially a few items that kids would enjoy, and more veggies. Atmosphere is nice, service is okay. The bill will add up quickly if you are starving.

Scallops and filet mignon were excellent. Goat cheese sliders, sweet potatoes fries were average. Service was just ok, they delivered a wrong dish to our table, and we had to wait for the correct sliders. Portions are a bit small, so the bill can add up quick if you order lost of tapas.

Everything was fantastic! We had the lamb meatballs, broccolini and the white bean dip. Was a great amount of food for two and would definitely recommend all three.

We came here for dinner before taking in the show at the Shakespeare Festival down the road. For 2 people, we ordered the stuffed fried sqash blossoms (special that day), chinese chicken salad, ahi sliders and grilled jerk prawns. The blossoms were great, not over battered, and stuffed with a fine balance of cheeses and poblano chile. The salad was very bland, and it seems that the dressing was watered down from wet lettuce, and the chicken was a bit scarce. The Ahi sliders were flavorful, but could have benefitted from a slightly thicker slice of ahi in between. The prawns where on the small side for only providing 6 in the dish, but they were well seasoned and thankfully not overcooked. No way to tell if they are really prawns or just shrimp, since they came shelled with only the tails on. Overall the food is good if not a bit pricey, but that is to be expected given the area. A very good place to dine prior to enjoying the festival.

Wow.... really taken back when I came across some of their menu items here on Yelp. Quite a few of their offerings are similar to items I have seen recently on the Food Network (Risotto balls similar to the rice balls from Food Truck Race, tomato jelly from an episode of Triple D), which is a good sign to me if executed properly. And my oh my they were executed excellently. I will start with the liquor menu first. Their beer selection was on point. It is very diverse, offering plenty of imports along with local craft beers. I get really excited whenever I come across a German beer that I haven't heard of before. It is actually a rare occasion for this to happen. They have three beers on tap I believe, the best one being Stella of course, and the rest are in bottles. The prices varied based on the beer, Duvel costs more as do some of the beers in 500ml bottles. The wine list looked extensive, deep, and also very varied. I believe they also had cocktails. The restaurant only serves dinner and opens at 5:00pm. They have happy hour from 5-6, with one beer, one wine, and several food options offered for a discounted price. I am a rather picky and almost vegetarian eater, yet I still found about 25% of their menu absolutely delicious looking. I wanted to try so much, but the price of the food combined with my low funds limited me to only two choices, and two for my lady. I went with the risotto balls to start off, and goat cheese sliders later. These risotto balls were amazing! They were exactly like they sound, risotto with cheese rolled into a giant meatball-size, breaded and fried. Served in an order of four with a side of delicious tomato sauce. The outside was crispy and the inside was creamy and really flavorful, it was hard to not place a second order. The goat cheese sliders were so good I was disappointed with the portion size. $13 got me two small sliders. But the taste.... well worth it! It was a rather simple dish and I say that as a compliment. The goat cheese was also breaded and fried, and the goat cheese "patties" were gigantic and looked like giant scallops. Topped with tomato jelly and greens, served on a soft sweet roll. Loved it. My lady started off with tomato soup, which was actually good for a tomato soup. It was thicker and there was actually pieces in it to chew. Not like a watered down canned version. It came in a large bowl and was very warming and a good start to the meal. Next she got the beef short rib sliders, and like others have said on here they were amazing! Super flavorful and extremely well done. The staff here was very friendly and took good care of us. This place is one of the two best meal experiences I have had in recent memory (The other one being Sippenkuche in SF), I enjoyed the food so much it took a lot of will power to not come back the next night. I wish this business good luck and hope they stay open for a long time! And maybe open another location in Downtown Sacramento!

After a crappy night at a wedding, I decided to ditch the crap at the Hyatt and look for some good eats to collect my thoughts. Saw a review on yelp and decided to see what's up for myself. Sat at the bar and ordered the sweet potato fries and short rib slider. Awesome! Bartender was a good dude and his service was great. Overall, great experience along with good food and atmosphere

I've been here twice with friends and enjoyed several of their dishes. In terms of size, expect to feed approximately 3 hungry people or 4 regular appetites with approximately 6-7 dishes. If it's your first time here, I would recommend the following: * Sweet Potato Fries - You gotta order this as your starter for your meal, if only because the mustard sauce that comes with it is sweet and delicious. * Grilled Jerk Prawns - If I recall correctly, you get 6 prawns in this order. * Ahi Sliders - The ahi is very smooth. You get 2 sliders for this order. * Fried Pickle Bites - I liked the batter that they used to cover the pickles. * Chopped Chinese Chicken Salad - Probably the biggest order you can get here. Nice order to balance out all of the meat and fried foods that you may be eating for your meal.

"The lamb is so undercooked that it is starting to eat the salad!" ~Gordon Ramsay Dear owners of Bite, Have you pulled up a chair in your restaurant lately and sat down to eat from your menu? Did you like it? How was the service? You know, on second thought never mind, don't answer those questions. I've seen enough episodes of Kitchen Nightmares to know that owners will rarely admit that their food is sub par or that their waitstaff is less than attentive or even worse, downright rude. But I'm here to tell you that you might have a problem on your hands. It all started innocuously. My friend called to make a reservation for five on Saturday night and was told that Bite doesn't make reservations for less than six people, but to come on down anyway. That's cool, we can live with that. We arrived less than a half hour later and were told that there wasn't a table available. Really? We were then told that we could squeeze five into a banquet as long as we were finished with dinner in less than two hours because they had a reservation. Double really? We decided to go ahead because we were hungry. The hostess was very cool and went through the menu with us quickly before taking our drink orders and heading off. Our waitress arrived next with our drinks and took our first orders of the evening. Remember we were five people and hungry so we started with a first round of Maple Walnuts, sweet and spicy roasted walnuts in a bowl ($3), a salad of Baby Lettuce, Roasted Pear, Maple Walnuts, Parmesan, Walnut Vinaigrette ($8), an order of the Fiery Honey Baby Back Ribs ($12), the Beef Shortrib Sliders with Crispy Onions & Sweet Pepper Spread ($13), and an order of the Pan Seared Sea Scallops with Yukon Whipped Potato & Brandy Mustard Cream Sauce ($14). To be completely fair the walnuts and salad were good and the baby back ribs were off the charts delicious! The shortrib sliders were just okay. They suffered from too much creaminess and starchiness and not enough acid to cut it. No big deal though. Then the scallops arrived at the table. We were instantly overwhelmed by a strong fishy smell. Mrs. Anthony S. scooped up one of the scallops and some of the mash and tasted it. It was incredibly fishy and she immediately stopped eating and put it back on the serving platter. No one else ate any of the scallops. We called over the hostess who was nearby and let her know the scallops were a little off. She apologized and asked if we wanted anything else. We ordered a few more items including the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Meatballs with Warm Pita & Chimichurri ($14), the Grilled Filet Mignon Bites, Roasted Red Onions, Shiitake Mushrooms, Bleu Cheese & Red Wine Demi Glaze ($18) and the Crispy Goat Cheese Sliders with Housemade Tomato Jam & Fresh Basil ($11). We also offered the feedback on the sliders hoping it would get to the chef. We didn't ask for anything in return, just providing feedback, you know? The lamb meatballs came out next and looked delicious! We split them up between the five of us and dug in. They looked perfectly cooked until we cut into them and found them to be completely raw inside. Our server came over again and we let her know. She then proceeded to ARGUE with us saying the meatballs were cooked medium rare. We pointed out that they were plainly raw in the center and at that point she told us that, "Things don't seem to be working out for you guys tonight. The waitstaff tried the scallops and they were perfect. Was there anything else you wanted or do you just want to go?" ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? Are you kicking us out? We canceled our pending orders, asked for the bill and a chat with the manager on duty. The manager was thoughtful, kind and acknowledged our problems (which would have never escalated that far if the server had a tiny bit of tact) and brought us our bill and a free dessert to go. We paid, gave a 20% tip and got out of there. You know the old saying that you grow into your name? Well the food and service truly did "Bite" that evening. I hope you can make the changes to right the ship. I know it's difficult running a restaurant, I wish you only the best of luck!

I want to give this place 10 stars!!! Absolute neighborhood gem! Everything was delicious but if ur not tat hungry, Go for the ahi sliders, sweet potato fries, fish tacos, short rib sliders, and steak with mushrooms. The empanadas were not up to par but ok for a vegetarian. Desert u must get the mini ice cream sandwiches, and key lime bites. Both to die for!

STILL love this place! Went back with friends and feel the same way I felt last time - if you get the exciting menu items (Ahi sliders, Goat cheese sliders, Khalbi beef sliders, Tuscan grilled cheese, etc.), it's an AMAZING PLACE. If you get the more "normal" items (mac & cheese, fries, etc.), it's not going to blow you away. We sprung for dessert this time and their coconut cream bars were SO YUMMY!!! So were our friends' key lime bars. Definitely save room for a sweet ending! This time, the only thing keeping my opinion from 5 stars was our insanely rude server. Server tip: just because your newest table has 4 young people at it does not mean they will be obnoxious or not tip well. Be nice! Luckily, it randomly switched to someone else part way through our meal and she was awesome, so it turned out just fine. Bottom line: GO HERE, ask your server what the best items are, go with those, and enjoy your 5 star food and 4-5 star experience. :]

    I. LOVE. BITE. Close competition for favorite restaurant in Incline between here and LaFondue, but it depends what you're looking for. Bite's menu changes seasonally and is all about small plates for sharing. They also have awesome cocktails. This is always my go-to place when I'm at the cabin. Must orders: -BLT sliders (bacon, lobster, and tomato)....need i say more -Jerk prawns -Deviled eggs (sounds weird, but trust me) -Fiery BBQ honey baby back ribs -Ahi sliders -Brussel sprouts with bacon I've never had anything here that I didn't love, but the first time we tried the BLT sliders was like an out of body experience. That good. All of the salads we've had are great too. Menu changes frequently so not everything is always on the menu but you really can't go wrong. Favorite cocktails: Honeybuck (not on menu but bartender will still make it), and Peach Julep.

My wife and I are always impressed with this restaurant. We have never had a bad meal. I am sure reservations are recommended, but even when we come in without a reservation we have been seated. The interesting thing here is they are always busy because they are so good. I think one of their secrets is their service is so fast that you are not wasting time waiting for your meal, you are enjoying it soon after you are seated. And, the bonus is the incredible favors they manage to create with their small plates. You can pick and choose several plates if you are hungry, or just one.

YUM! One of the best places in Incline Village. Drinks...Chaparral (tart and spicy), Tongue & Groove (delish bourbon drink). Mahi mahi tacos, to DIE for. Burgers always awesome. And always always always start with the risotto balls. Yum yum yum, give me some! PS the Silk Road drink and the bacon wrapped dates are pretty delicious as well.

This place popped up when I researched for dinner spots in the area, so glad we came. Thanks YELP. Everything we had was good, some were exceptional. We love how you can taste different wines with the 2 oz option, we thought the wines were priced reasonably. The lobster BLT was the clear winner, short rib slider was yummy as well. Fish (sea bass) tacos and jerk prawns were good put did not stand out as much. I also liked the arugula salad with jicama. Although tempted but decided not to order dessert simply because there was no room left. :D Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Suffice it to say that BITE is awesome. I remember when this location used to be an old, mom and pop spaghetti and pizza joint. Finding BITE there now was a very welcome surprise. My husband and I went over there after having a glass of wine at Jack Rabbit Moon. Will write a review of that soon, too ;) BITE enjoys great reviews on Yelp so we did not hesitate. The parking lot was really crowded and the same went for inside the restaurant. The hostess told us it would be a long wait for a table, or that we could sit at the bar and have dinner. About 5 minutes elapsed before a group got up from the bar so we swooped in. The menu items are very eclectic twists on favorite dishes. We ordered the maple sweet potato fries and the grilled asparagus as appetizers. The idea here is that you order a few things and share them...if you want. Our entrees were wonderful as well. One thing you'll want to keep in mind is that it's pretty loud inside there. You can totally hear the person next to you or across from you, but there's a never ending din - typical in a trendy restaurant. What happened because of the noise, however, was that the bartender didnt hear my entree order. I thought she had. When the food came out and mine wasn't there, I asked her about it and she was very apologetic, even though it was not her fault. They ended up comping a couple things on our check to make up for what they considered to be their error. Great customer service like that is always appreciated. BITE has a great wine list with many by the glass, and an extensive specialty cocktail list featuring standard drinks made with unorthodox ingredients. Definitely hit this place up if you're on the north shore of Lake Tahoe.

Guy who answered the phone was a jerk. And then lied about availability. They were not helpful at all, we won't be going in ever again. To top it off, it was my birthday, and we had a two year old with us. So many better options if you care about service!

Ahi Sliders were amazing, as were the Grilled Filet Mignon Bites, and the Grilled Wild Fresh Catch Silver Dollar Tacos. Expected it to be a little pricey, so I wasn't shocked when the bill came for $70, without us ordering any alcohol. Dessert was great as well.

For some reason... I thought this was more of a grill and bar spot. My friends and I were to surprised to discover that this was a bit more swanky spot serving American Tapas. We had a long night ahead of us so we skipped on the alcoholic beverages. We more than made up for it in food though. We had the Ahi Sliders, Jerk Shrimp, Baby Back Ribs, Gumbo, Sweet Potato Fries, Dollar Fish Tacos, Mac & Cheese. I would skip the ribs and the tacos next time. They weren't bad but they weren't spectacular... and it seems that Bite can do better. I found the gumbo a bit salty but soothing. My favorite was the Ahi Sliders by far. If I were Incline Village again, I'd definitely be back.

When the blizzard's a-blowing outside, dumping that sweet powder for tomorrow's slopes, and you need to fuel up for the inevitable moguls, Bite is absolutely a destination. Great American tapas will fill you up - but I recommend asking the waiter how many dishes to order for your party, or if they can just alter the dish size for the number of people you have. We dined on Ahi Sliders (good but strange texture) the Gnocchi (AWESOME), lamb shanks (damn good), the gumbo (pretty tasty), and a few other items. Now keep in mind that my review could be influenced by the fact that I was damn near starving after a day of skiing, but I am pretty sure that the food was worth it regardless. Atmosphere is great too: a bit swanky, not too pretentious. Small, but good beer selection.

The food here is really good. One of the few of it's kind in Incline Village - interesting food, casual but modern/SF ambiance. It stands out in Incline which tends to have either super casual (burgers/pizza) or high end (Big Water Grille, Hyatt) but not much in between. Being able to order the small plates is great for a group - everyone gets something they like. I especially love the risotto balls, sliders, salads, butternut squash soup. The wait staff is very professional and attentive.

Very impressive Bite! The place was packed when we arrived on a weekday around 8pm. That night I introduced my mom to tapas...whose taste is quite limited since she has lived in Bakersfield all her life. Although not authentic Spanish tapas, these small plates were unique fusion combos. The service was great, although I am not sure who our waiter was. We had a couple people waiting on us, which is fine. I'm just not sure who our tip went to. The inside of Bite is so modern with rich red color, which is awesome because the strip mall may be a deterrent to some. But don't let it be! The only downfall I noticed was the noise, it was pretty hard to hear the conversation across our own small table. You may be wondering what to order. May I suggest the white bean and roasted garlic dip as an appetizer. It was so creamy and healthy and it's served with charred bread and rainbow carrots! The carrot and zucchini flautas were out of this world and the gnocchi is a must. It's flavor is so rich, creamy, and complex. I want to go back and try more plates and I definitely regret not ordering desert...there's always next time. Gotta love living so close to Tahoe!

  • Robert H.

This was our first time at Bite but won't be our last. First off, the place gets busy. But we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar with no waiting. That was a good move because the folks at the bar were a friendly lot including locals and visitors. Our neighbors were generous to let us try some of the dishes they ordered. One thing to keep in mind is that the portions here are a bit more generous than many tapas and other small plate restaurants. Order accordingly. Of course we over ordered and got stuffed. We had the green eggs and ham deviled eggs, jerked prawns, beef tenderloin, risotto balls, and scallops. Everything was terrific: inventive, flavorful, and filling. One regret is hat we didn't try any of the sliders. Next time. Very good wine list including lots of good choices by the glass. We ordered a bottle of Elyse Petite Sirah which was a perfect complement. I know we will be back

When it is cold outside, you will find sophisticated comfort food to warm your heart at bite. My wife and I were looking for a little place to have a dinner for two while on vacation for a week with family in Tahoe. Bite was just down the street and the Yelp reviews were strong (about a three minute drive from Hyatt in Incline Village, NV). It exceeded my expectations. They have two distinct areas in this restaurant: a bar that you first walk into and a sophisticated dinning room area to the left. When we arrived at 5:20 for dinner on a Thursday night (they are closed Wednesdays) we were the first people in dining room, but by the time we left at 7:00 the place was packed. The service was excellent, with quick delivery of items and a friendly smile. The food was phenomenal. Bite runs a Tapas style menu, but with American cuisine rather than the Spanish style more commonly associated with Tapas. Tapas can get pricey because it is a la carte, but in this case the prices are reasonable and the food so good you will want an setup that allows you to try different things. We ordered and shared the following items: White Bean & Roasted Garlic Dip with Organic Carrots and Grilled Bread $8 Butternut Squash Soup with Jameson's Garlic Dust...taste $3 bowl $8 Crispy Goat Cheese Sliders with Housemade Tomato Jam and Fresh Basil $10 Beef Tenderloin Meatloaf in Braised Ketchup and Worcestershire Sauce Special $?? Sautéed Brussel Sprouts with Bacon $6 Nothing was mediocre. The low point may have been the Brussel Sprouts, but even those were great (and my brother-in-law makes some bacon brussel sprouts that will dominate any other cook in the kingdom). The Crispy Goat Cheese Sliders gushed with goat cheese, nearly too much, and were wonderfully juxtaposed with the Tomato Jam. The meatloaf special was rich with flavor and represented the pinnacle of comfort food admirably. This review would not be complete without mentioning the drink menu. My wife enjoyed the Lemon Ginger Zinger (Hangar One Buddha's Hand Lemon Vodka, Ginger Syrup, Fresh Lemon, Mint, Crushed Ice, Soda water). I tasted it an enjoyed it. However, I ordered the Sugar Shack (Maker's Mark Bourbon, Fresh Lemon, Maple Syrup, Angostura Bitters), and found it to be so wonderfully warming and sweet that I quickly followed up with two more. They had to have been darn good because they comprise nearly a third of my bill by the time the meal was done! The crowd was a diverse array of middle-aged men out on business dinners to single dads with kids to couples like us. Attire was all over the map, but it is winter in a resort town, so while no one was wearing ski boots, there was not a lot of Armani to be seen, either. I urge you to visit Bite when in Incline Village. The pricing, service and food quality are all top notch, and you will have an experience that rivals the views from the top of Crystal Express.

To say this place is "Good" is the understatement of the century. It is not only my favorite place in Incline Village, but one of my favorite restaurants. Period. The decor is lovely, service is always good and the food is fantastic. You MUST try the Ahi sliders- they haunt my dreams. The scallops as well as prawns are also a favorite and their "tastes" of soup are actually a quality cup portion. LOVE this place.

Came here on a whim. Had good reviews, so we took the plunge. Service was great. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. Very prompt. Food was not bad, but I wasn't blown away. I do like that they have smaller portions, as I just don't eat that much on average. I think home cooking and living in the Bay Area have spoiled me a bit. Our scallops were really good. I was a little miffed they didn't list their beers on the menu. Otherwise, this place was fun and I'd recommend it to someone looking for something a little different in their fare.

This restaurant is exactly what it claims to be....A Bite. Not for the Hungry Man, but perfect for his skinny supermodel girlfriend that wants small delicious portions and some fun drinks. The Sliders were the best I remember having and the fried pickles were good. I would go back.

Bite was just ok for me. I wasn't impressed with the ahi slider. the bb ribs were ok... fries were standard... lamb chops were on the dry side. service was very good. prices were reasonable. but overall, the food was just not that memorable. to be fair, i'd give them a 2.5, leaning on the 2.

I was in Tahoe for the first time a couple of months ago, and I'm very thankful that we stayed up in North Tahoe instead of down in the tourist trappy "Little Vegas" of South Tahoe. We were looking for a place to eat one of the nights and ended up here. I had the BLT "Bacon Lobster and Tomato" sliders and the Green Chili Mac & Cheese. The sliders were very rich and definitely unusual. It was hard to finish all of them but only because of how rich they are. I recommend sharing them with someone and ordering another type of slider so it isn't overpowering. The Mac & Cheese was good, spicy without being too much. Give this place a whirl if you're in the mood for something a little higher end than most of the sandwich and bbq joints up there.

My wife and I went here for a date night. We loved it! We started with the bacon wrapped dates-great. Then the ahi sliders-I loved them too. The tuna was seared perfectly. Then we had the Tuscan Grilled Cheese Sandwich-this was our favorite dish of the night. We loved the mix of the pesto in the sandwich. We got the vegetarian empanadas-they were our next favorite dish. The dough was buttery and light. The green sauce/salsa was flavorful, but not spicy (I would have liked it spicier). Then we ordered the Moroccan meet balls-I would pass on them, kind of blan. For desert we got the apple turn-overs-loved them. We loved most of the food and the atmosphere was great. The service was good and the prices were reasonable. We will go there again when we return to this area.

I love this restaurant! I'm a local and make sure to bring friends here whenever they come for a visit. The ahi sliders are my favorite. The fish tacos are very good, too. They also have excellent steak tacos, but they're off the menu are not always available.

This is a gem of a restaurant in Incline Village. Very quaint and the food is unique. It's tapas (small bites) so expect the food to come in small plates and you will have to order several dishes. Also, the portions typically come in 4 so if you have more than that in your party then plan accordingly. The fried pickles, devil's something(dates&feta wrapped with bacon), the devil eggs were our starters and we ate everything. They were delicious. Then we ordered some sliders and the meat were cooked perfectly. Then we order the lamb chop cooked to perfection topped off with a pesto purée. Fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of the menu and The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend it. Oh....save room for dessert. You won't be sorry.

Had dinner here this week. It is located right off the road and in a little shopping center; nothing special - then you enter and the place and its very nice inside; low lighting and clean/modern feel. The server was very nice and helped with the menu choices. We had the rice balls, butter left lettuce salad and fish tacos. We loved them all and enjoyed trying out new taste combinations. Oh we ended with the apple pastry dessert and it was wonderful; I wish I could bottle their carmel sauce to go. We definitely want to eat there again when we are in the area.

This is one of my favorite places to eat after a full day of skiing. On weekends you will need to make a reservation as this place fills up quickly. We mostly eat at the bar or at one of the tables surrounding the bar because we like the atmosphere more than in the restaurant. It is warm and inviting, hoping with conversation and perfect for coming in from the cold. The bar seating is first come first serve. As for the food, it is excellent, flavorful, fresh and very unique. You will not be thinking that the food is just like every other restaurant out there. The owner and chef are very creative in preparing their food. My favorite is the andouille sausage & shrimp gumbo which I will share along with an order of the scallops, sautéed bloomsdale spinach with garlic, pine nuts and golden raisins, shaved brussel Ssrouts with bacon and balsamic glaze and ahi sliders (or Moroccan Spiced Lamb Meatballs) accompanied with a cold Stella beer. For two people I think this is plenty of food. But given the food is served Tapa style, you can always order more. For desert (if you have room) I enjoy having the warm apple turnover bites with creme anglaise or the bite ice cream sandwiches. If you include a couple of beers each, your bill will come to about $80 for two people plus tip. The service has always been excellent. Servers are very knowledgeable about the food, they are friendly, often funny and remember you by name if you come often. The owners are Brooke and Thomas and both are very committed to their guests enjoying themselves and are often on site making sure their guests are happy. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.

A nice quiet and trendy spot in Incline Village. The bar and dining rooms both provide ample seating. The decor and ambiance is neuvo-chic and the service is outstanding. The portion size are generous given their "tapas" menu as the price is very reasonable. The taste, though, was just so-so and nothing special, but given the price and quantity, I thought it was a good deal.

Great place for drinks and snacks. Try their sangria, it's very good. Not too sweet and like spice wine with a sangria flair.

We have been here several times now and always had excellent food and service. Loved the scallops and the BLT (bacon, lobster, tomato) sliders. We tried many different things on the menu and found them all enjoyable. We will return.

I love this place. I avoided it for the better part of 2 years when I moved to Incline for fear of outrageous prices. Once I finally came in I was pleasantly surprised. The food is awesome and the prices totally reasonable. The portions might be small, but they're filling nonetheless. Bring a large group of people and sample everything. I seriously don't think there is a bad item on the menu. This is now one of my favorite Incline restaurants. My favorites are the Tuscan Grilled Cheese and Risotto Balls. So melt in your mouth creamy they'll leave you wanting more. Save room though, because the rest of the menu is just as good.

Wow. This place is just what I wanted it to be.. Delicious comes to mind when I think of one word to describe this place. Fun atmosphere and its open a little later then most places in the same caliber of restraunt. If you've been playing hard all day like most in northlake, and want to reward yourself after a long day of play then this is your spot. Eat drink and be merry

The scene: 5 of us after a day of skiing and searching for food that would satisfy everyone and their different needs at one table: food allergies, religious exceptions, taste, etc. The deal: Bite was perfect b/c they offer everything one on menu, tapas style: seafood, meat, vegetarian etc. We ordered pretty much everything. The A list: lamb chop bites, beef short rib sliders, ahi sliders, white bean dip (with fab bread and crazy lookin' carrots), hangar steak, key lime bites and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. The C list: mac-n-cheese side, sea bass mini tacos, spinach salad (watery dressing). The gulp: great wine list. If you have a dime to spend on a weekend up, spend it here.

I've been twice, and will probably be a regular patron here. First time we got the fish tacos and mini grilled cheese, with the mac & cheese and sweet potato fries. Everything was awesome. Second time I got the scallops and the cheese plate... scallops were amazing, probably my favorite dish so far. Fun cocktails and a good atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!

I was pleasantly surprised by Bite. Bite is located in a nondescript shopping center, but don't let that fool you! The ambiance is modern and intimate. We sat at the bar, enjoyed some cocktails, and had the following: -Fried Pickle Bites -All American Hand Pattied Cheeseburger Sliders -Ahi Sliders with Arugula, Pickled Ginger and Wasabi Aioli -Grilled Wild Halibut Silver Dollar Tacos with Chipotle Aioli, Cilantro and Lime -Sautéed Bloomsdale Spinach with Garlic, Pine Nuts & Golden Raisins The fried pickles were pretty good. I enjoyed both sets of sliders. The ahi sliders were interesting because they weren't the best ahi burger I've had, but the pickled ginger and wasabi aioli created an usual sweet tartness that was simply wonderful (and I don't normally like aioli!). The beef sliders were pretty damn good. The fish tacos were alright. The spinach was pretty good -- the raisins certainly added an unexpected sweetness. All in all, I would definitely come back. There were a bunch of things on the menu I would have liked to try!

Awesome place to go for dinner. We come up to stay at least 2 times a year. We first went to Bite the summer of 2011. It may not have a view of the lake, but it is worth the trip. Bite has the tapas or a variety of small portioned plates. The plates we have enjoyed and recommend: fish tacos, BBQ fiery ribs, chinese chicken salad, mac & cheese with a nice twist adding jalapenos. Their homemade tomato soup is to die for. We willl definitely return each time we are up in Tahoe! P.S. Happy Hour is from 5 to 6 p.m. when they offer selected tapas and beer and wine at discounted prices.

They have the best Ahi sliders you will ever taste. I've been here many times. I love their food, and I constantly tell myself to steal their recipes to cook at home, it's that good. My parents and brother are picky eaters and they loved it when we took them, too. VERY worthy of 5 stars.

I had not been up to Tahoe in a few years and my parents go EVERY year and EVERY year they go to Bite and EVERY year they tell me about how amazing the food is. So when we went to Tahoe this past September we HAD to go to Bite. We got there at 5 (for happy hour) They were having a little technical difficulty with the Internet and registers so they didn't open on time. We sat in the bar and ordered BBQ Chicken Sliders (YUM), Short rib sliders (YUM YUM) BLT (bacon LOBSTER tomato) (YUM YUM YUM) and their Mac and Cheese for the little one. (YUM YUM YUM YUM) we also ordered a salad which was GREAT and my husband still talks about how good the dressing was. The husband ordered something else... but I can't recall. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!!! So amazing! The mac and cheese was even great! It even heated well the next day for lunch for the little one. Sometimes Mac and cheese gets separated and greasy NOT THE CASE! Great restaurant. Definitely go if you are in Incline!! OH and we also got the matchstick French fries YUMMY! I only wish I was able to get dessert! I have heard AMAZING things. NEXT year we will make sure we save room for dessert!

This place is a real gem. My husband and I took our friend here last Saturday for her birthday dinner. We had the sea scallops which was to-die for - never had scallops that good! We also had the ahi sliders (very yummy) and the short rib sliders (delicious). We also had the fried chicken coconut which was the only thing I was not crazy for. The pomegranate salad was awesome as well. The service has been fantastic as well - our waitress was very amiable and proactive. I wish we ordered everything that she recommended like the fish tacos and gnocchi. Be careful because it is very easy to overeat in this place. I wish they had this American tapas place in the Bay Area also....will definitely come back the next time I'm in Lake Tahoe.

I am an Incline local. Tonight was my second visit to Bite and I couldn't have been more impressed, both with the food and the service! We had fried pickles, crispy risotto, gumbo, goat cheese sliders, sweet potato fries, and lamb chops. It has to be hard to time the delivery of the food with so many courses, but they pulled it off perfectly! Everything was fantastic, but neither my girlfriend nor I were super impressed with the lamb. I will add the caveat that I have never been a big fan of lamb and she is more prone to like boneless meat. I figured I would give it another shot, because I figured if anyone could change my mind on lamb, it would be Bite. Like I said, neither of us loved it and we told our server so when he asked. Without me asking, he discounted the dish by half. I never would have asked or expected him to do that, as there was certainly nothing wrong with the dish, it just didn't blow us away. Shockingly, customer service is still alive in Incline! The other four dishes were unbelievably delicious! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The support staff was excellent, bringing drinks and clean plates right on time. I left a 25% tip for the first time in a lot of dinners out. Thumbs up to these guys!

Casual restaurant with interesting menu and delicious food. The service was prompt and excellent value for the quality of food and service. This will be the first restaurant reservation that I make when I return to Incline Village.

A solid four. Nothing more nothing less. The food and the service were good, but for the price I know you can get better elsewhere. It is sort of surprising to find this semi-upscale restaurant in Incline Village. I think it was a semiprecious gem in the rough. We got the ahi sliders - good. The ribs - also good. And the Mac and cheese - awesome (but I'm a sucker for Mac and cheese) Overall I'd recommend it to friends but probably not go there again.

I'm torn. 4 stars? 5 stars? I'm gonna round up. I really, really loved this place and can say that I definitely want to go back. In fact I wanted to go back the very next night, but I was vetoed and we ended up trying some place else instead. Such an unexpected little gem. Usually I don't expect to be wowed while out of town snowboarding. This was my first time in Tahoe and I was sorta expecting the usual mediocre to bad Mammoth resort food. But boy did this place put a smile on my face. The Ahi sliders are definitely 5 stars! So so yummy! I would crave those if they weren't so far outta my reach. The service was also great. Our waitress was so friendly and nice. The decor and atmosphere are as hip as any place you'd find up on the Westside. Very cool place. I hope to do all my future snowboarding in Tahoe since it is so beautiful, and if this hope comes true, then I'm doing all my eating at Bite =)

Gumbo is really good except it comes with only 4 shrimps. Had the spinach and its just vinegar mixed with wine. Asparagus is also covered in yellow vinegary sauce with no seasoning. Ahi tuna is alright but seems like it was seared I'm the morning or yesterday and refrigerated. Deviled Eggs I did enjoy. Key lime tasted like a Sara Lee cheesecake in lime vinegar sauce, almost the same yellow sauce as the asparagus. Atmosphere and vibe is really cool and enjoyable. I can barely understand the over complicated and excessively worded menu. Simple and fresh would be awesome but unfortunately, I don't know if that happening. Prices are steep for tapas too.

I have eaten at Bite several times and it by far one of my favorite places to eat. Everything that I have eaten so far is beyond delicious. The grilled cheese is to die for and well worth those extra calories. :) The Gumbo is one of my favorites, as I crave it even the next day. BLT sliders a must!!!! The service is outstanding!! If you do not eat here you are missing out!!

Went to Bite for Happy Hour with my husband and 2 other couples after skiing and all I can say is wait a little longer and have dinner instead. I've been here several times for dinner and everything we ordered was sooooo good. The service was good. The prices are a little high, but we felt it was worth it for the quality and variety. Happy Hour, on the other hand, was a different story. The waitress seemed impatient when we were ordering. The drinks came and then we waited at least a half hour for our food. The onion rings were cold. the sweet potato fries were good. Five of us loved the cheeseburger sliders, Donna thought they were okay. The risotto balls were really good - just like Craig's mom used to make. When we left, I was sorry that we had stuck to the limited Happy Hour menu rather than ordering off the full dinner menu.

Really awesome! Menu changes seasonally. Drinks were delicious! The pork sliders were awesome and the Mac n cheese is basically the best I have ever eaten. Risotto balls were okay but they lacked seasoning to us.

If I am going to give out 5 stars, the restaurant needs to have good service, good food balanced to price, an interesting atmosphere... and something on the menu that is OVER THE TOP great. (See Sliders below). Incline Village is not your typical glitzy Lake Tahoe town. It is more a place where you rent a condo and buy groceries. It is close to ski resorts, the beach and even has a bowling alley. The food there is generally pedestrian. Except for Bite. They could use a little more art work on the walls and plants in the bathroom, but the interior of the place definitely makes you feel you have moved up a notch in the social ladder. The service feeds right into that with multiple visits to the table and always full water glasses. The food is small plates (tapas) of creative American fare. We had a salad that was fresh and flavorful. A skillet of mild pepper mac & cheese that was filling. Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Prawns and light Empanadas that melted in your mouth. Then came the Sliders. Sliders are what give Bite its extra star. My favorite being the Goat cheese, Tomato Jam and Fresh Basil Slider. Like you would find in a warm goat cheese salad, the circle of cheese here is breaded and fried or baked. The Tomato Jam is sweet, complementing the cheese and the basil is shredded finely to release the flavor and calmly bring out the savory side of the tomato jam. All in a fresh, easy to handle bun. Excellent. p.s. Yelp has this at $$, but with a drink (it is half bar) plan on $$$.

This place is definitely worth trying! LOVED it. We came here after we discovered our fave Tahoe restaurant (Capisce!) was closed that day. What a nice surprise! Husband had the pickle chips and LOVED them. (I personally don't like pickles, so I can't comment). 2 orders of the beef shortrib sliders, I can't say enough about these. I probably could have eaten a third order. And I can't wait to be un-pregnant so I can try the other ones as well! The sweet potato fries were very good, loved the dipping sauce. The mac n cheese was excellent!!! And was still excellent the next day for lunch. The only thing we weren't big on was the grilled cheese bites. Too much cheese and not enough pesto, in my opinion. The service was wonderful and we loved the atmosphere!

Bite is awesome. Great service, fantastic food. We've been three times, and each time, we've swooned over the food. I don't think you can go wrong here, but my favorites are the much-yelped lobster BLT sliders (really, really amazing), the goat cheese sliders, the risotto balls and the ice cream sanwiches. Oh, and the timing of the dishes coming out is always impeccable. The only thing that could make Bite better is if it were on the water...or closer to me in South Lake.

While eating at Bite it didn't feel like I was in the Lake Tahoe area at all. It almost made me feel like I was in a tapas restaurant in the middle of San Francisco. If you want that woodsy, Tahoe feel you won't get it here. Bite differentiates itself from the rest of the restaurants in the area. There are so many good places to eat in North Shore, Lake Tahoe that they have created their own unique style that I would suggest you try out. If you are not familiar with tapas, it's a variety of appetizers and snacks. Bite has a good amount to choose from and it's a fun way to eat with whoever you bring along. I ate here with my wife and mom and we each ordered two different tapas plates to share. Six plates were more than enough for us and I'd say half of what we ordered was extremely good and the others weren't bad either. The best plate by far was the Green Chili Mac n' Cheese Skillet and you even have the choice to make it spicy. This was the best mac n' cheese I have ever had and the spice made my mouth dance. The other two great choices were the Grilled Halibut Tacos with chipotle aioli, cilantro, and lime and the Classic Tomato Soup. The soup was made from scratch and was excellent! We actually ate here during happy hour and got a few bucks off of our tapas and drinks, which was nice. If you're like me and can't decide between a few different plates on the menu, then just order them all. You'll be satisfied with your decision.

What a find!!! Don't even hesitate to take yourselves to this place. Our family had planned to go to dinner at another awesome Yelp-reviewed restaurant in Tahoe City and they were closed. Luckily for us, Bite wasn't far away and seemed like another great choice. The entire experience was fabulous. This place is a gem. We were warmly greeted and our party of 5 was seated right away. Kumara, our awesome server, took great care of us and was very patient while we perused the menu. Absolutely everything we tried was amazing. I love the idea of a Tapas menu. You get to try so many things and share....what better way to enjoy a family meal? We sampled: Gumbo: delicious and not too spicy White bean and garlic dip: Super yummy, hummus-like but creamier Salad with shallot dressing and pastachios: Fabulous, fresh, I could eat one every day. Tuscan Grilled cheese: gooey, garlicky, and heavenly Cheeseburger/hamburger sliders: my husband's favorite. Delish! I wish we would have had room for dessert. Next time for sure....the ice cream sandwiches sounded incredible. Thank you, Bite! Thank you, Kumara! We can't wait to visit the Tahoe area again so we can sample more deliciousness.

Fantastic! We just happened in after reading reviews & it was the best meal of our trip! Started with Bacon wrapped dates (5 stars), white bean & roasted garlic dip (5 stars) squash soup (4 stars), Mac & cheese (5+ stars). Cheeseburger sliders w Bacon - amazing (5 stars), scallops (4 stars) Robert was our server & gave excellent service + descriptions and advice. Wish we'd found it earlier in our vacation.

The portions are tapas-sized and so is the service. Went here for a friend's birthday the other night while in town for a ski trip based on the reviews. Service was the worst I've ever experienced. The waiter told us twice that he couldn't take our order for appetizers because he had to do "something else." Are you serious?? It wasn't even busy in there! I was excited to see many yummy sounding dishes on the menu but when they came felt mostly disappointed. They weren't bad, just not as good as they should've been for the price. Nothing out of this world. Not only did the waiter not say happy birthday or act at all excited that we were there but said he could do nothing special for the birthday or even ask if we wanted dessert before he dropped the bill.

We found this place based on all the positive reviews on Yelp, and OMG....I'm so glad we did. They have possibly the best beef shortrib sliders I've ever had. So flavorful, juicy, and just melts in your mouth (not too heavy either). We also had the cheeseburger sliders, the honey glazed ribs, and the melted grilled cheese (I forget what it's called) and they were all delish. For dessert, we ordered the apple turnovers and chocolate cookie ice cream sandwiches (each had 4 mini desserts) and it was the perfect way to top off our dinner. Not too sweet, but just the right amount. The ambiance is really quaint and cozy (perfect place for a romantic date!), and parking wasn't too bad. If you're looking for a good variety, good quality, at a reasonable price, check this place out. Bite has officially become our go-to spot when we're in North shore!

We were hungry and our yelp search brought us to this local. Well, we were kinda disappointed. The food was presented with no pizzaz. It felt as if it was just thrown on the plate. The ahi tuna sliders were alright but nothing great. The paella was good but needed a tad more flavor. What really turned us off was the sweet potato fries...who puts cinnamon on them? Not good...not a good idea. I did enjoy the giants game on the TV though.

Awesomely wonderful place in Incline Village. So unassuming from the outside, but a wonderful ambiance inside. Classy but still casual enough to fit in to the Tahoe scene properly. The menu is pretty dazzling -- an awesome range of small bites and a great little wine menu. We munched on the risotto balls to start (deliciously cheesy) and shared a mixed green salad which was perfect. The ahi sliders were a solid choice (though the goat cheese sliders were also calling my name) and the vegetable empanadas and fish tacos were equally awesome. While I didn't really get to peruse the dessert menu, we grabbed the key lime pie bites which were out-of-this-world AMAZING and decadent (two bites is definitely enough)! You can definitely go with a group and share the goodies, but it makes an amazing place for a date! Perfection!

Bite is exactly what Incline Village needs: a modern chic restaurant bar that serves delightful tapas! Seriously, everything in the village is outdated, run down, and old so this place is a hidden gem! We were told sliders were the way to go but just didn't feel like ordering them so I can't give a comment about it. I think the best tapa of the night was the honey glazed pork ribs which had such a good texture. The meat literally fell off the bone and the sauce was sweet with a little kick. You know what really made it great though? It may sound wierd, but they give you a parsley stalk and taking bites in between really served as a palatte cleanser.. kind of similar to ginger when eating sushi.. The coconut chicken was JUST okay. It tasted really buttery and sweet. They throw on some slaw ontop of it which gave it a nice crunch, but the flavor didnt fit well with the buttery coconut. I also ordered the chinese chicken salad which turned out be be very BLAH and for $12, it definitely wasn't worth it! Other tapas worth mentioning include the mac & cheese and the sweet potato fries. The aioli dipping sauce was delicious and we ended up asking for a huge side of it. It tasted good with the salad too. Mac & cheese was very comforting too. They had a good selection of beer on draft and also offer wine sizes by taste, glass, carafes, and bottles. I thought that was cool so you can order as much as you want when you find the "one". I liked incline village but not enough to come back for a second trip. If I do however, I will definitely visit Bite again.

I had read so many positive reviews about this restaurant, I couldn't wait to try it! My husband and I just had the opportunity to do just that and were not disappointed. We listened, as well to the choices others had tried; we ordered the ahi sliders, and I could not pass up the duck confit sliders. Magnificent on both, the ahi won out but not by much. My husband ordered the grilled filet mignon bites and the thin cut onion strings and loved them both! He does not usually comment on a meal. We also shared a bottle of wine an it all came to the upper double digits. Well worth it. The atmosphere was casual, cozy and somewhat romantic. Our waitress Christine was great, spot on helpful, there when we needed her and left us be to enjoy our meal. We will be returning once again before ending our holiday. Very much recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to indulge in a fantastic treat to their pallet whilst visiting beautiful Incline Village.

We have now been here twice and have been very impressed both times. When you arrive, don't be put off by the fact that it is in a strip mall. The decor inside is simple but nice. The food is all top notch, but I think the highlight for me has always been the scallops. I love scallops and they are cooked to perfection here. The drinks, which constantly change, are also great. Finally, the service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive, a difficult balance. I highly the restaurant and can't wait to return.

I'm a local who used to live in the Bay Area. This place is as close as you can get to bay area type restaurant but in Tahoe. Food is relatively expensive but really good quality and always new stuff on the menu. Great place to go with family because you can share and as much of a "fancy" atmosphere as you can get in Tahoe. The only negative is that it can sometimes be a bit noisy when restaurant is full.

Hubby and I ate here for the first time while on vacation. We arrived at opening and were immediately seated in a prime corner table. Service was exceptionally fantastic. Enjoyed the risotto balls but was not overwhelmed. Ahi sliders were fantastic and the cheeseburger sliders were fabulous. Over ordered the dessert , although the waitress warned us it was a lot of food: chocolate cake, bread pudding and apple turnovers. The apple turnover bites were the very best of the three.

Bite was a really great place to eat! It has a great atmosphere, very modern looking, and the waiters/servers are very friendly and helpful. It's very well priced and they encourage you to share your meal with your entire table. I liked the fact that they also wanted you to pair different things together to try out. And we used Yelp to find it!

Wow. This place was delicious and had a great atmosphere. The risotto balls were one of the best things I've ever had. The spicy Mac-and-cheese was a tasty, interesting take on the dish. The beef tenderloin was good, but I wish we'd tried sliders instead--guess that will have to wait until the next trip.

Place was packed & looked pretty fun. Problem was we showed up at 7pm w/ 4 adults & a child. They basically were appalled we wanted a table w/ a highchair. I didn't know Bite was an adult only establishment. The "queens" that worked up front were rude & told us they didn't have room 4 us but there were empty tables right in front of our faces. I totally understand it may not be kid friendly but I wouldn't take my child to a place if it truly wasn't ok for him 2 be there. Bite could have definitely handled this better.

Sometimes Eating establishments in Incline are just plain weird. When you come into Bite you will notice and feel like you are welcome and comfortable and its 2011, not 1985. The service and food are excellent without being OVER the top expensive.

This is my first review and I'm only doing it because BITE is well worth it. This one of the best places I've eaten period! Atmosphere, food, and staff were all great! Thank god for yelp because we would've probably never stopped in because the sign is kinda dinky looking. *ahem* First off we started with Craig's Green Balls. Even though I must say it was kinda awkward asking for balls. But, get over it. These things are worth it. One of the most delicious appetizers I've ever eaten. So simple, I wish I could have thought of them. Seedless grapes covered in goat cheese and then rolled in toasted pistachio's. Genius. Second we had the Tuscan Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Super freaking good and cheesy! + Their sourdough was excellent and cooked perfectly. We also had there super thin onion rings. Really good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Then we tried the Gnocchi. Probably the downer of the night. It was my first time trying gnocchi and probably my last time. It just wasn't what I was expecting. It was a little too mushy and the texture was hard to overcome for me. But the sauce they made with it was really good. But we left about 85% of it on the plate and the waitress asked if we liked it or not and she saw the disgust on our faces. But at the end of the night before she dropped off the check she let us know that the gnocchi was off the bill. HOW FREAKING AWESOME CAN THEY BE? geez. Of course she got a major tip! ;) To end the night perfectly they all recommended the Coconut creme bites with meyer lemon puree. Yup, well freaking worth it! One of the best desserts I have ever eaten! So good we had to buy another plate to go and enjoy them back at our cabin in front of a toasty fireplace. All in all super awesome place and would love to go back there again anytime were back up in north lake tahoe. 4 and half stars for me on this place!

What a breath of fresh air for Incline Village dining, and that's saying something considering you're right next to beautiful Lake Tahoe. (Can I get "Nature....that's why I come here. GOULET!") Most of the dining in Incline Village is best described as no-fuss. This is great when you've just finished a day on the slopes or lake and need to make up for the 1000 calorie deficit you've just created, but when you're a group of nine girls looking for something a little nicer to celebrate one girl's impending nuptials, you want something a little more upscale than Subway. Considering the fact that Bite resides in a strip mall, as do almost all the businesses in this town, the interior was pleasantly surprising. It definitely made you forget you were in a tiny town in the middle of the woods. The food was good overall. I think if this place was in the Bay Area I would give it one less star, however, places like Bite are definitely lacking in this town so I can afford to be generous. Ditto to all the reviews on the sliders- they are tasty. The owner Thomas was great, he served us that evening and was so nice and even went out of his way in helping us think of other fun activities for the weekend. He was also obliging in my request for the perfect Vodka soda (pretty much all Belvedere) - another kindred spirit who could appreciate the value of a stiff drink. As if he couldn't be nice enough, he gave us girls Key Lime bites - thanks! We'll come visit again, and next time we'll chop it up on the lake.

My favorite restaurant in Tahoe, hands down. The food is fantastic (Ahi Sliders for sure, but everything is great), the atmosphere is nice, great wine list, good happy hour. The staff is always friendly, the owners are great, a wondeful addition to downtown Incline!

NICE! Great place to eat. It's small and kind of loud but lots of fun and good food. It's tapas style, but you still leave full. The area is nice and upscale. It's a great addition to the area. Nice place for groups and a great bar scene. Try it out!

Great spot in Incline -- Tapas and cocktails are perfect! I have tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to come across anything that was not delicious. My favorites are the risotto balls and pomogranite Diablo cocktail. Eating at the bar is always a good option here and the staff is super friendly (especially Mildred;)) totally recommend this place and were lucky to have a spot like this in Incline.

My favorite place to eat in Incline Village! This restaurant is a fun and relaxing place to enjoy a meal with friends. It is cozy and surprisingly hip for a small-town restaurant. The food is served tapas-style. That means most dishes are relatively small portions that are meant to be shared with others at your table. Choose several items from the menu and pass the plates around as they arrive. It's a fun and intimate way to eat dinner.

Fantastic! No matter how far you have to drive to get to BITE, or if you are local, give it a shot! Reservations not required but advisably if it is a holiday or holiday weekend - be sure to call in advance! Happy Hour at the bar is great - tapas at less than $6.00 per portion, full far and a delightful wine list - by the bottle or by the glass. I especially like the chicken sliders, soup of the day, tacos or the onion rings. If Chad or Kat (a girl) is working - they will treat you well. Flat screens in the bar area for your favorite game. Nice dining room adjacent for full service for you, your friends or family. Prices are fair; not overpriced! Parking is in-front, off the local highway. I have to get back - was there with my best friend from college - a week ago. My family deserves to know and enjoy BITE, you do too. Frankly, NOTHING beats BITE. The ambiance is within the four walls....you would have no idea or clue from the exterior. The crowd is mid 20s to mid-50s; not many kids (no disrespect) - so much the better. The DB level is civilized. Oh, btw, if your fav bev is a Cosmo - you won't be disappointed. Again, full bar. AND, call in advance to be sure of hours - off season or in-season.....like any resort community, you know how if goes....Tahoe is in sinc. Bravo Bite.

The food was pretty good, the restaurant was too hot/stuffy inside. The ahi sliders and deep fried pickles were favorites. Good wine selection.

We walked in just after 7pm on Friday night, the bar was packed and from the looks of it, the restaurant was as well. There was only a couple spots left at the bar and with a group of 4, we were hoping to get a table. The hostess walked right up to us and asked if we wanted to sit in the dining room. A group has just left and the timing was perfect. The service was excellent and the food was good. I personally enjoy the Tuscan Grilled Cheese and my wife had the Roasted Lamb Chops. We always look forward to Bite and are definitely look forward to going to back!

A bit pricey and upscale for a tourist location but the food and service are good. The empanadas and ice cream cookie were amazing! One note - the sweet potato fries are funky - don't order. Service was ok. I also get frustrated with restaurants who run out of 2 or 3 menu items at 5:30 but there are always other items to order.

Excellent meal and service! Lots of different tastes and a nice setting. Not the least expensive restaurant but well worth the price. The favorite was the filet mignon bite.

The food was fine, we had the white bean garlic dip, seared fish, and short ribs. The hostess was very pleasant and accommodating, I think she was the manager or owner. The service throughout the restaurant was awful, the bartender didn't approach us once in 25 minutes and seemed only to serve neighborhood regulars. The waitress forgot to put our order in, so everything we ordered came out at once, and hardly ever stopped by the table. I ended up canceling three items because they came out so late. Three people stopped by the table to tell us they were swamped because of the crowd; a crowd should be expected on a Saturday night at 7:30pm. A great rating means great food and great service. The kitchen is very capable, but the rest of the restaurant is unable to deliver on even a passable experience.

Ridiculously good food. Ahi sliders and BLT sliders are like flavor explosions. Loved the risotto appetizers and white bean dip. The bartenders made fabulous (and strong) drinks. Dessert...ice cream sandwiches and a Cup o' Joe Martini...pure heaven. Make reservations, I heard someone at the bar say there was a 3 hour wait (on Dec 29 right before New Years).

This is our third or fourth time visiting Bite. It seems like the prices are getting higher and the portions are getting smaller. While the food is very tasty, I think $12 for four shrimp and a spoon of grits is a bit pricey. And a "glass" of wine was more like two tastings in a winery tasting room. Not sure we will go back.

UPDATE!!! We gave this place a second chance and it was outstanding!!! The food was amazing and our server was excellent!!! So glad to see a truely uniquely superior restaurant really make it in Incline Village. So glad that we gave this place a second chance.

Went here last Saturday for dinner. Our cousin lives in South Lake and it took us about 45 minutes to get here. Came around 7ish and were seated right away. We practically ordered everything on the menu. Some of the dishes that stood out were the Ahi Sliders, BLT, and the gumbo. Those were all delicious, except the gumbo could have had more shrimp in it. I would probably come back here again. If you're a local, check to see if you get a discount.

Tapas, American style. After a long hike at Marlette lake, we popped in for some dinner. Good atmosphere, food and service. We didn't feel under dressed in our hiking gear. The tapas we tasty, filling and appropriately price.

Great atmosphere. Happening crowd. Good place for convo. Prices good for tapas styled food. Recommend the apple turnover if you have a sweet tooth :) Great for an evening light dinner if want. Easy to find. Service is super! Quick and responsive.

Bite is definitely my favorite place to eat in Incline Village. Between the cocktails and the Tuscan Grilled Cheese, it is awesome. It also has the best atmosphere of any restaurant/ wine bar in Incline...there is only one inconsistency that downgrades the restaurant considerably: sports being shown on TVs in the bar. The sports stations completely undermine the contemporary urban appeal of this establishment. I go to Bite with locals often, and we always remark on the disconcerting juxtaposition of the cool atmosphere at Bite and sports on televisions; it doesn't make sense and reduces its coolness considerably. Even if they wanted to show something, anything, artistic, classic, just not sports games, that would increase the cultural cache of this place. Something that doesn't quite bother me so much but keeps my friends from wanting to join me at Bite is that the wait staff is trained to snatch your plate away as soon as you are *perceived* to be finished. This practice inevitably leaves one single person eating at the table, while no one else has a plate in front of him/her. This emphasis on taking individual plates immediately results in social discomfort. My boss, for example, refuses to go to Bite b/c she hates the (unintended) rudeness of taking peoples' plates before everyone has finished. On the plus side: the food has always been consistent, the service is excellent, and the decor (minus the sports ;) is contemporary and inviting. Definitely my favorite place to eat or have drinks in Incline. Oh! I forgot to mention that there are often spontaneous closings that occur here, which is unfortunate. Just the other day I suggested to my colleagues that we have a drink at Bite after work and one woman said that she loves Bite but has given up going there b/c the last 2 times she went, they were closed for the night. I understand they close on Wednesday nights, and they also were closed for a week around Easter. The inconsistency in terms of being open has deterred many of my friends from wanting to go there...which is a shame. One suggestion I have for Bite that would be a huge hit is if they featured a DJ after 9 or 10pm on Friday or Saturday nights. We have a really cutting edge, awesome DJ in Incline who would be great for this: SizeofTexas. vimeo.com/21902789

Bite is still consistantly tasty. My favorite is the ahi sliders, both my boyfriend and I got our own orders because we didn't feel like sharing this time! Also their scallops, paella, and gnocci were pretty darn tasty too. As for their service? Excellent! Everyone on staff there is prompt, polite, courtious, and professional.

This was originally written on 6/5/2010 and posted incorrectly under "Bite"... Please accept my apology. However, I still stand by my review!! This is a MUST any time we are in Tahoe! We came here last night with some local friends and found "Bite" to be another "Hidden Gem"!! The restaurant serves "tapas" or "small plates" and has a huge and varied selection of delights and a superb wine menu with a huge number of wines by the glass and wine tastings. The four of us started with "Ahi Sliders" with a deliciously light sauce. We progressed to "Grilled Jerk Prawns" that were very tasty, "Coconut Fried Chicken" that would not normally be our choice but had outstanding flavors and a subtle crunch and "Blackened Halibut with a wonderful Chipotle Lime Cream sauce. We also added "Grilled Asparagus" which was plenty for four people and done to perfection. Our waitperson was always there when we needed her but never rushed us to make choices and the overall experience was entirely wonderful. "Bite" has to be at the top of the list for "must go" restaurants and if you are in the Tahoe area it is well worth the drive!

I typically temper my reviews of Tahoe restaurants knowing that comparing them to those in SF is unrealistic. Given the prices at Bite, I don't see any need to give extra concessions. Food was good, but not great. My drink was meh. I had the Sangria, and it was the strangest Sangria I have ever tried. Nothing like this in Spain or America to my knowledge. There was no sweetness at all. I am assuming this was deliberate, but I didn't "get" it. Our waitress was luke-warm. The paella tasted more like a risotto, but not bad. Our absolute favorite thing was the lobster special. We were shocked, though, to find that this item was more than twice the cost of any other item on the menu. Yes, lobster is expensive, but I think that the waitstaff should quote the price of a special in the event that said special is going to run 110% more than the most expensive item on the menu! That lobster was tasty, but the bill left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. 3 stars.

Good food, friendly service, nice ambience. The menu features American style cuisine served in tapa size food portions and a decent wine list. Prices are up there for what you receive in quantity but if you can look beyond that, overall~ cute little place.

Found this place by getting redirected from a doorman at another restraunt in the area. He told our party that the wait at his restraunt would be very long and he suggests trying Bite. We then headed over, sat right down and started ordering appetizers immediately (as we were a bit hungry). We started with sweet potatoe fries and some sort of deep fried onion treat. Both were amazing and had an equally amazing sauce to go along with them. Everyone got different things and we all tried as much as we could. Everything was great. Might not be all that much food on the plate but, what is there is very well thought out and delicious. I ordered the ahi sliders, yeah, I said it.... ahi sliders. They are worth trying for sure!!!

Bite is another example of great food made by great people who provide great service. I've got my fingers crossed that it will stand the test of time because I cannot wait to go back. The good ... -- the food was great. we ordered the All American Sliders, the Lobster BLT sliders, the coconut chicken and the Fish Tacos. Now, these are not your everyday sliders! They were very generous portions for the price. I thought the Lobster was probably the weakest item we ordered but it was still very tasty. My fiance who is a very picky eater ate everything and then some. -- the service was friendly, accommodating and helpful. Considering the restaurant was bustling with people on a Thursday night of a holiday weekend, I thought the staff did a very good job. We only had one little lag time for clearing our plates at the end, but despite that, the service was great. I tried to call ahead but they only take walk-ins; however, when we arrived the hostess asked if I was the one who called because she was trying to hold a table for me. -- the atmosphere has a really fun buzz to it. Looking around the room, there was a table of 8 for a bachelorette party, a table of 4 grandparents, a few tables with couples, and a table of 16 filled with 3 sets of parents and 10 kids. Just a nice eclectic mix of people which is kinda cool to me. The not-so-good ... -- the decor was a bit dark -- the acoustics of the restaurant are TERRIBLE. it was very loud in there. All in all, despite a few minor issues, I would HIGHLY recommend you check out Bite the next time you are in Tahoe.

I really did not expect much for great restaurant in Kings Beach but this place is worth the trip. What a fantastic idea... great way to try a lot of tapa size entre... Green eggs and ham... yum.. with wasabi.. gives it a good bite.... andouille sausage n shimp gumbo... i need two of these... so so good... and then for all those mini sliders... they remind of the Chairman Truck baos but American style....We tried the cheeseburger, duck confit and the short ribs... my favorite... the duck confit... so so delicious... all sliders are 2 to an order. The honey baby backs are yummy .... they give you four so if you really like ribs, order 2..... and the empanadas ... well, honestly, I was so busy scarfing down the sliders I didn't pay much attention and the brussel sprouts... perfectly sauteed.. even you brussel sprouts haters will love their brussel sprouts! I was stuff and I still wanted to try their dessert. We tried the bread pudding (4 mini in an order) and I base everyone's bread pudding against Tartine's bread pudding... so Tartine is a 10... I would give Bites an 8.5.

Stopped by last night just looking for a place to grab a quick dinner. It was a little swankier than I thought it was going to be, but the people were very nice. We had the cheeseburger sliders which were vey good as well as the tuscan grilled cheese which was also very good. The fries were alright, but the onion rings were amazing. They were cut extremely thin and were great. Although I didnt have them, the BLT (Bacon Lobster Tomato) sliders are supposed to be really good, and the desert looked great too. I'd stop by if you are in the area.

Like many wrote before, don't stop at the location/front. Go through the door. You will discover one of the most delicious restaurant we have tried lately, in a really nice and modern atmosphere with design fixtures and red walls. Their tapas-style plates are amazing, with well balanced spices and flavours. We tried and highly recommend (like many fellow reviewers) the scallops, the ahi sliders and the paella for instance. The French fries were not crispy enough to our own taste, and the service a bit slow - yet very courteous. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Total: $80 including tip for 4 courses + 1 side + 1 dessert (no wine or drinks) We'll make sure to come back here next time we are up in Tahoe.

If you're at Incline Village and really crave something a little different for the area with a nice, cozy, trendy style atmosphere, then tapas at Bite might just be the place for you. The restaurant is appropriately named "Bite" because that's about what you get with each serving. Bite is basically a tapas restaurant and bar, so if you're really hungry and want a big meal like steak, a burger, lobster or ribs, then tapas at Bite may not be the place for you. Tapas are kind of like appetizers. It's great for large groups because you all can get a bunch of different tastes like the lobster (BLT) sliders, crispy risotto balls, garlic spinach with pine nuts or the honey baby back ribs. Our large group of two (yes two, me and one other person), shared exactly what I mentioned. All that was just enough. Luckily we weren't too hungry. If you have more than two in your party, I would suggest getting at least two orders of everything you want because the portions are small. Remember, it's tapas (appetizers). Overall, the food is okay for the price. Remember it's tapas (yes, I did mention that again) so you don't get a lot of substance for your money. However, what the plates lack in quantity, may be made up with tasty quality. I particularly enjoyed the BLT, aka the Bacon Lobster Tomato sliders. The crispy risotto balls was new for me and I liked them also. While I may not be Popeye, I did love the spnich with pine nuts the best. I washed it down with a pint of great tasting featured draught. TIP: happy hour specials are great and will save you $2 - $5 per menu item. the bartender is pretty awesome if you sit at the bar. there's live music on some nights.

On New Years Eve my bf and I were looking for a place to eat that was open a little later than most of the food places in incline. We read great reviews so decided to head there at 10:30pm. We got the delicious scallops, garlic bean dip, and these pesto cheese bites that were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was really nice - not too fancy but had dim lighting and trendy seating. The service was super friendly, the drinks were expensive but good, and the portions were bigger than we thought they were going to be. Spent a total $60 there (including drinks and tip). We headed out at 11:30 to go ring in the new year. It was a great time!

Great food. Great atmosphere. A tad overpriced, but it's in Incline Village, the richest city in the country. What do you expect? Love the Tapas approach and would definitely go back.

The food was pretty solid and a few dishes we had were really good - the short rib sliders (craving these right now as I type) and the desserts. If you unrealistically compare this to somewhere like Gary Danko in SF, you will be disappointed, but if you compare it to the boring dining scene on the north shore of Lake Tahoe (as many reviewers have noted previously) it's a nice addition, not to mention a cozy place to wind up after a day of skiing or hiking.

My girlfriend and I had a pretty good feeling about this place... so we wanted to check it out. We sheepishly walked in at about 450p, and were not sure if they were open yet... However, as soon as we passed the threshold of the door we were warmly greeted and immediately asked if we would like a glass of wine or a drink... so many other restaurants would get that initial meeting wrong, but Bite understands customer service. The kitchen wasn't quite ready, but that didn't matter because we had so many good choices to pour over on the menu. Many things looked good to us, so we went with the BBQ chicken sliders - delicious with so many flavors and textures, a lot going on; Basil Wrapped Prawn Wontons - perfectly cooked; and the Grilled Jerk Prawns with Jicama and lime cream - awesome flavors with subtle spice. I almost forgot to mention the Sweet Potato Fries - fantastic (real sweet potato, no yam) with a great dipping sauce! We are thinking of figuring out a reason to head back that way just to grab more tapas!

Love this place. We have tried many of their small plates and are very pleased. Personal favorites are the fiery ribs, gumbo, mac and cheese, bacon wrapped dates, deviled eggs and their cocktail with basil in it. We've come with a big group and also just my husband and I and it is always a good experience. Service has always been timely and great as well. The quality of food is top notch and fresh.

Arguably the best restaurant in the Tahoe area. Super eclectic and awesome. The bar is rad, super helpful staff, great food. We had Ahi sliders, halibut tacos, sweet potato fries, and mac n' cheese with green bell peppers. All were great. I totally dig this place, its definitely my go to any time im in the area.

What a find!!! Big city small plate cuisine in sleepy, little Incline Village. We had the crispy goat cheese sliders, ahi sliders, firery honey BBQ ribs, sweet potato fries, bread pudding bites and apple turnover bites. It was all delicious and we experienced great service with our waiter taking the time to tell us his favorites and making thoughtful suggestions, i.e. we didn't want two slider plates because of all the bread and he said the goat cheese sliders were just as good without the bun. He was right ... yum! Although Bite may not be kid-friendly for a two-year-old (how many upscale cuisine restaurants are?), I would take my 9-year-old without hesitation.

I've been to Bite several times since it opened, and I have always been impressed by the atmosphere, the drink selection and the food. The owners are all really cool, and they have some great bartenders. On the weekdays, Bite is a classy and romantic spot to take a date for some nice drinks and tasty small plates. I'm not sure which nights they do it, but the last time I went there with a friend on a Monday, they were having a 10PM-12AM happy hour! On the weekends, Bite is a great place to start the night with some good drinks before inevitably descending the ladder of decency and ending up at Rookies, Pub, or Paddle Wheel.

Oh what a wonderful find this place is! We weren't able to actually get out for our anniversary (3.5 year old son with us and his not-so-well grandma/babysitter), but we did get take out from here and it was amazing. My favorite was the handmade gnocchi which was so delicate and delicious in a perfect Marsala and bacon cream sauce. We had two of the seven sliders: the beef short rib and the BLT (bacon lobster and tomato). To die for! Then we polished those off with the lamb chops and sea scallops. so stuffed, no room for dessert. We were fortunate enough to get out the next night for Happy Hour and tried the ahi sliders, paella, fish tacos and the hanger steak in addition to another order of that gnocchi. All were fantastic! We took an order of the gnocchi and lamb chops for my mom who was watching our son. Chad the bartender is super nice and knows a lot about the area. We didn't get to meet Mike, the chef, but man this guy can cook! Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity (fairly large for tapas). I cannot recommend this place enough. It has been desperately needed in Incline Village, a city that hasn't seen too new restaurants in the past decade.

Stopped by again for end of season happy hour on 9/26. Always super clean and very friendly, knowledgeable service. Sat at the bar with my friend. The menu is so wonderful, it's hard to make choices (really, we'd like to go more often to try more dishes). We decided on two appetizers (fiery short ribs and spinach salad with pomegranate seeds, carmelized pear and cider dressing). Wonderful choices! The bartender was putting his finishing touches on the sangria and had us help taste-test as he was adding fresh fruit. Great "happy wine" deals with very drinkable wines. The only downside was that we were so full from these two appetizers, that we didn't have room for the ahi sliders (which are amazing). The TV in the bar was switched to football, but nicely they don't turn on the volume. There are plenty of other sports bar places in the area if that's what you are looking for (but you'll miss out on amazing food). Can't wait to come back to Bite for our next Tahoe visit!

Food is high quality. The cheese plate with honey and fig jam was superb. The cheeseburger sliders were quality also. Dessert was great: apple turnovers and cookie ice-cream sandwiches. Service was great and attentive. The only downsides might be the price and the noise level, but neither are too bothersome.

Awesomeness!!! My wife & I stopped by Valentine's evening with no reservations and to are surprise only had to wait a minute or two to get a table. Our experience is based on the quality of the food, the great service and environment. We both were greeted with a smile, and after the hostess confirmed a delayed reservation we got seated. Plenty of bar seating which looked cool but we opted for a table. Our server and staff were very attentive. Valentine's specials explained and the recommended favorites. We both felt appreciated and treated friendly. The mozzarella & marinara bites were yummy. Our collective order included the cheeseburger sliders, chicken & pear sliders & ahi sliders with a light wasabi sauce that rocked! Dessert consisted of a hazelnut chocolate mousse bites & fruit slice with cheese. A glass of red & white was included as the Valentine's special. The decor of the place is really warm & intimate. Dark wood accented by lighter real wood branches with a contemporary swag. The bar was panoramic and roomy. You can't go wrong for a nice evening out with plates that tastefully pleasant and not overwhelming. There is a reason this place has so many reviews on yelp. If you're in Tahoe its more than worth it to visit Bites.

Bite is one of our favorite local restaurants. We have friends in from New Zealand this week and took them to bite. Food is wonderful Ahi Tuna Sliders are one of my personal favorites. The prices are reasonable and I recommend the coconut Mohito's if you like rum. Great place for a girls night out as it is intimate and you can talk. This is a tapas style place so be nice and share your food!

All I can say is Mmmmmmmmm! Thanks to Yelp, we decided to try Bite last week while vacationing in Lake Tahoe. What a perfect find it was! The atmosphere is dark and quiet...perfect for 2 couples trying to catch up after years of not seeing each other. The wine list was great and our friendly waitress gave us a few recommendations on apps which we quickly ordered, ravenous from the flight to Tahoe. The risotto mozzarella balls were delicious and I hear the shrimp app was great too (I'm not a shrimp fan so I didn't try that one). The sweet potato fries were yummy and flavorfully seasoned with a rich mustard sauce for dipping. I had the vegetable empanadas which were decadent and light all at the same time. The rest of the table ordered ahi sliders, a selection of yummy salads, and the butternut squash and tomato soups which were both delish. Fun place, great service, yummy food, good wine....what more could you ask for? Check it out!

We are from southern california, vacationing in Incline Village. This place is RAD. SO good. We had the blue cheese and grapefruit salads, amaaaazing french fries (coming from the french fry queens), white bean and garlic dip on amazing carrots and breads, and fish tacos. ALL so good. The vibe inside is great, and excellent service. I would go back ASAP.

the food here was great considering it was lake tahoe and i am used to bay area food. the sliders were cooked nicely, the scallops and spinach were tasty and everything in general was cooked well. the shrimp wontons were just ok though. the service was pretty good as well. the company i was with was not so good since i went with my family which included my 3 baby nieces but thats another story.

Late dinner. Not overly crowded. We sat in the bar area. Service was excellent--great suggestions on apps, small plates and wine. We tried a the Tempranillo--wonderful. All dishes hit the mark--Craig's Green Balls lived up to the hype. BLT + Lobster sliders and Beef Tenderloin were great. The Baby Greens salad with grapefruit, asparagus (blanched perfectly), etc. is a unique combination and delicious and can be shared. Don't forget the Sweet Potato Fries w/ maple syrup+mustard sauce for dipping - awesome. Save room for dessert--we had the apple turnover bites w/ ice cream--melt in your mouth good. The Coconut Cream bites are their specialty...next time. These guys have it down. Definitely recommend!

Bite is our new favorite restaurant in Incline Village! We are locals, so we know of what we speak. Restaurant's tend to come and go in Incline, and the one's that stay tend to be overpriced, catering to rich people on vacation. Bite highlights are: 1) Unusual wine list where you can order a "taste" (2 ounces), glass, 1/3 or 2/3 of a bottle (or a whole bottle, of course). 2) small dishes meant for sharing with great variety 3) The SLIDERS, baby! 4) The grilled cheese sandwich (this is NOT your mama's grilled cheese) 5) The gracious, friendly service 6) The Thai soup 7) Any of the deserts 8) The creatively and thoughtfully prepared food 9) Reasonable prices 10) involved owners who ensure a good meal Go and enjoy!

I was in Truckee/Tahoe for the weekend and craving Italian food but just couldn't find anything that sounded fabulous enough because, well, I was in the mood for something fabulous... :o ) I came across Bite on Yelp and, as always, my fellow Yelpers did not steer me wrong. Several people suggested the ahi sliders and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. As were the crispy goat cheese sliders and the rocket salad. We also tried the grilled beef tenderloin bites but admittedly those didn't blow me away. The puffs were soggy and we even suggested to our server that she tell the owner to put them on top, instead of on bottom, or to put the red wine demi glaze on the side. We also ordered the grilled wild halibut silver dollar tacos but I was way too stuffed by the time they came to try them and they didn't seem appetizing as a leftover. All in all, the food was quite fabulous. I will definitely stop in for more ahi sliders and crispy goat cheese sliders next time I'm in the area.

This place totally rocks! Bite turned my ski trip to Lake Tahoe into a foodie fest. We were so impressed we went both of our nights out, trying at least a third of the menu. Every item was fabulous, perfectly cooked with just enough of a twist to make it very interesting. Our servers Chad and Trent were great fun, totally enthusiastic about the menu, and extremely helpful in guiding us through it. Tom the owner, made sure eveything was to our satisfaction. The other great thing about Bite is that all the help loves to be there; what a big plus! I'm gushing but we totally, absolutely loved this place! Hats off to you all.

I tend to think that Bite is overrated. While the decor is neat and the workers seem hip, the food is OK. Some dishes are quite good, others are misses. We discovered that you had to sample a number of them, which is the point with the portion size. Unfortunately, there was a lack of consistency with them. I would probably return however.

We gave Bite another test drive and were pleasantly surprised. The old puckerbutt of a chef is gone and the new one is a delight. Great food done our way which was really not that big of a deal, all we wanted was hot sauce, which was an absolute no go before. Do not miss the sliders, particularly the ahi, they are great. Glad to see they are back on track, Incline needs all the choices it can get.

I've been to Bite a few times and I have enjoyed every meal. The halibut fish tacos are great and the halibut is not fried-a step up from your standard fish taco. If you are leaning towards healthy the sweet potato fries make for a good side dish. I'm not a big dessert fan and I'm especially not a fan of coconut but the coconut creme bites are fantastic. I would definitely recommend saving room to enjoy them after your meal. The restaurant is very clean and the the color scheme and decor make for an enjoyable atmosphere. I would say it is one of the very few "hip" restaurant/bars in north lake.

Nice ambiance, dishes were all good. For a Tapas place the portions were very good. Lots of interesting menu items. I would go back to try some more. We sat at the bar on a busy sat night, service from the bartender was good.

When visiting Incline Village recently it was a pleasure to discover Bite Restaurant and Lounge. In the past I would have to drive to Boulevard or Wolfdales for a good meal-not so anymore. In a nut shell the food, ambiance and service were all terrific. Must orders include: Ahi sliders, gnocchi with bacon, killer tomato soup, and the cup of joe for dessert! Based on what we ate I don't think you can go wrong with ordering any of the items. The one(small) negative was that the buns that accompanied the sliders were too simple considering the filling-killer on the inside not so on the outside. All and all 5 stars.....we got there @ 5 when they open on the Friday of labor day weekend and walked in with no reso. When we left @ 7 the place (including the bar) was rockin!

As a NYer, when people tell me that a restaurant anywhere else is as good as NYC, I usually doubt. I was very wrong - I shared several entrees with my party, and every one of them was great. Order a few things as the portions are small - and you'll enjoy being able to taste more than one great dish.

Vacationing in Tahoe. Found it on Yelp. We were intrigued by the variety on the menu. Most menus we've looked at seem like burgers and pizza. The menu looked great. Nice ambiance and lighting. Our server, Shannon, was great. My friend ordered the Lemon Ginger Zinger to drink. It was a wee bit heavy on the mint. Looked like a salad in her glass. Could have used a touch more ginger. For dinner we shared the tenderloin medallions, gnocci, brussel sprouts and macncheese. Of course I cannot describe them as the menu does but for the most part they were delish! Only downside was my tenderloin. The steak was great but sadly the spinach and onions on top were cold. There were a ton of onions too. Too much. I thought perhaps that the toppings were supposed to be cold so I ate it. It was only after when I asked Shannon did I find out those were supposed to be hot. I wasn't complaining but Shannon, in her exceptional customer service, offered to buy us a dessert. Damn you girl! We were trying to be healthier and not get dessert even though they sounded awesome. Well, they tasted even better than they sounded. I'm not sure how often they change their menu but I would definitely go back.

*Nice* little American Tapas/"small plates" restaurant. I'm allergic to shellfish, so about half the menu is off-limits to me, but the half that I *can* eat is tasty, interesting, varied, and well worth the money. The ambience is great for a date or an evening out with friends, as well.

i went to this place with my boyfriend on the 4th july weekend and it was awesome! busy, good ambiance, service very good! My favorite dish was the roquette salad! but the dessert chocolate cake so delicious with a glass of French wine. I had a great dinner and i recommend this place : )

Bite turns out to be a very expensive meal for what you get. The food ranges from good to oh well sorry we ordered that. Service is hit and miss and when the bill arrives you will think you were at a fine dining establishment. The ahi sliders are the definite highlight but if you want a truly great meal skitter on over to Fredericks and enjoy great food and service and nice ambiance.

Great concept-sharing! Our waiter very kindly explained & described dishes & the portion sizes to help our decision making. Tomato soup excellent. White bean dip very nice if a bit garlicky, served with fresh peeled small carrots (not the little bullet ones) & flame toasted bread. Salads were fabulous: we had the fennel/blood orange salad & the butter lettuce/apple/manchego/hazelnut. Corn Tacos were a bit soggy but the Mahi Mahi inside flavorful. Shrimp a bit too heavy on sauce & the jicama had a kick to it! Tried desserts - yummy ice cream sandwiches made with chocolate chip cookies & vanilla ice cream, & flour less chocolate cake w/mousse on top which were reminiscent of brownies ;0) everything flowed well & they came to assess our progress without hovering. There was plenty of food to take away & we'll have Bite leftovers for our lunch today. All the take away containers are made with Eco friendly materials, even the bags!! We wish they had a place like Bite in our home town! We will make this a favorite haunt when visiting Incline!

Nice place for tapas. If you're there between 5-6pm ("happy hour"), select items are specially priced (30-50% off). The place is a bit small and it's kinda dark inside if you sit near the back. Four stars because of the happy hour, 3 stars otherwise.

I've had a timeshare in Incline Village for years and had somehow missed this place. This week I discovered Bite and ended up going to dinner there THREE TIMES. I can't get enough of this place. The food is great and the staff handled everything perfectly (I used to be a waiter so I know good service). The second night my wife and I ate at the bar and we met the most wonderful bartender, Kat (Katlyn... and she is, of course, tall, gorgeous with a wonderful smile, and she really made us feel at home). She made my margarita from scratch and it was perfectly balanced (probably shouldn't have had two but I couldn't help it). The food was incredibly tasty. My favorite dish was the bacon wrapped figs with blue cheese. Absolutely mouthwatering. Whenever I am in Incline Village, I will absolutely return. Do not miss this place and, if you're smart, you'll get there for the 5pm-6pm happy hour. If you eat in the bar area you get reduced prices on some of their best dishes. Oh, and if you sit at the bar and meet Kat, tell her you read this review.

This is one of the better restaurants we've found in Incline Village. But we consider it a "sometimes" restaurant rather than a staple, simply because it's a tapas place. The ambiance is modern and upscale, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is fresh and delicious. Some of our favorites in this tapas style restaurant are the fish tacos, ahi sliders, mac-cheese and the ice cream sandwich desserts.

This place was a much needed recent addition to Incline Village. I was thrilled when we got a tapas bar (aka small plates or apps) Great place to go out with friends or family. Order a bunch of sides, sliders, etc. and share. Yum! And their drinks are good too. More "hip" place to go than you will find anywhere else in Incline.

the ahi sliders here were AMAZING. the ahi was nicely seared, and the salad of pickled ginger and arugula was refreshing. the scallops were also very good, and i enjoyed the lemony leeks on the side of them. the apple turnovers were so-so, kind of doughy.

This was an excellent place with great food to share.. had the bacon wrapped prawns appetizer, crab cakes which were really good (not too breaded with a great sauce), catch of the day Mike's day which was lobster tail, and tebulah with fruit and avocado which was very tasty..

Yes, Bite is a great alternative to the more sawdusted places you usually find on the North Shore. The food was attractive, the environment was cozy and the staff very, very, very enthusiastic. We ordered five small plates. The first was the ahi sliders based on our server's near manic excitement over them. I don't know if they were worthy of going mental over, but they were good. The spinach was the best I've ever eaten. Had I known I would have ordered a double portion. I mean, seriously delicious. The fingerling potatoes were pretty bland. I thought they'd have more of a Spanish twist since I'd assumed they were tapas-style. The crab cakes were good but more like crab medallions, about the size and depth of two wooden nickels stacked on top of each other. And finally, the carrot and zucchini flautas. Those were a disappointment, particularly since they were another heavily solicitied dish by the server. Frankly, the tamarindo sauce was ridiculously sweet and far too abundant. The ends of the flautas were positively saturated with sauce. I honestly thought they would up and swim away in a desperate attempt to save themselves. It basically ruined them for me. Still, Bite has Chimay on tap and some terrific wines. That coupled with the elevation makes the disappointments forgiveable. I would simply back some of that sauce off the flauta plate and I'd also close the blinds so you don't have to look at the parking lot. But bottom line: we'll go back.

I just got back from visiting my parents in Incline Village and we hit this little place. We had about 10 plates on the table and we were all grabbing at them to try everything. The short rib sliders were great and the lamb chop bites were tasty. Good onion rings and the jerk shrimp was solid. It doesn't look like much from the front, being in a little strip mall, but it is pretty nice inside. We were there on a Monday night and it was full so plan accordingly.

this review replaces our first as we really needed to go back and have a fuller experience in order to give a fair review. we've loved the vibe here - our choice is sitting at the bar and soaking it all in. the lamb special was deeelish as were the prawns, thin/crispy onion rings and a few others that the guys inhaled before i could get to them - including a round of sliders which are more than bite size. wines are great - affordable and some good ones to savor. nero d'avola is a must and easy on the pocket if you don't want to splurge on some of the top shelf wines. pomegranate sticky was a unique hit as was the late harvest semillon. unbeknownst to us, hall & oats is making a big come back - we'll do the same in a few weeks. thank you!!

If you like inferior service and mediocre food, this is your place. Great concept, poor execution. Billed as first come first served, we were asked to wait in the bar for a four top while the people behind us were escorted to the dining room. Overall, the service was clumsy: the staff tried to serve us appetizers that we didn't order (twice), yet one of our party's orders went missing. In all fairness, our waitress did adjust our bill to make up for the poor service. The quality of food was average, while the prices, in context, were high. It is noisy for a small place! The wine list was better than many competing restaurants in the area. Bite needs to step up their game to win my business again!

The outside of this restaurant doesn't look like much (it is in a strip mall), but if you can get passed that, you are in for a treat. They have a wide variety of tapas style dishes that are sure to please everyones palette. They also make some great cocktails. Place has a young hip vibe when compared to the other restaurants in Incline Village.

Much needed addition to Incline, and you can barely recognize Grumpy's, the previous bar, which is a very good thing. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Nice wine list.

We were at Tahoe for only one week and ate here twice. I love the concept of tapas--small plates to share--so I was delighted to find this "American" tapas place on our vacation. The food was really exceptional, especially the green salad with bleu cheese, grapefruit, candied pecans, and asparagus, which we had with a "taste" of chilled tomato soup. Amazing. Each night we had the same soup and salad with three different additional plates, and every one was better than the last. I probably liked the jerk shrimp the best, but the beef tenderloin with mushrooms was out of this world, too. I really loved the bites of dessert--I hate it when they bring you some huge portion of dessert, and these little taste bombs were the best. My recommendation is the key lime pie bites. A bonus for us was that we were able to watch the SF Giants on the TV in the bar while eating dinner--so we had a great meal AND got to watch our home team. But the restaurant itself looked lovely. By the way, the fresh squeezed fruit cocktails are pretty darned tasty, too. Try this place. You'll love it.

Went to Bite for dinner over the July 4th weekend. The place was busy, so we sat at the bar. We ordered the "pitcher" of sangria and were suprised when a small carafe was served to us which poured out exactly 2 glasses. Me and my partner are sangria connoisseurs, and whatever it was that we were served would not qualify as sangria. It tasted like straight pineapple juice with a little cucumber infusion of some sort. I am confident there was not one drop of wine in it. Since the sangria was lame, my partner ordered a mojito and the bartender asked if he would like it with bacardi. He said yes to the bacardi, but the bartender served it to him and announced that he made it with meyers dark rum instead. We ordered 4 tapas, and three arrived in a timely manner, then we sat around for over a half hour for our order of chicken sliders which we ended up canceling. The tapas we did eat (gazpacho, eggplant rolatini, and a salad) were decent, nothing to write home about, as they were slightly underseasoned. Overall, the food was average, the service was bad/weird, and the sangria was horrible. Hopefully, they get their act together, because the place has potential, but based on our experience it needs a lot of improvement to be considered a good restaurant.

Wow. Really, really good food. I'm an admitted food snob and I was thoroughly impressed with the creativity and innovation here at Bite. Ahi sliders, BLT (L is for lobster!), lamb meatballs, bacon-wrapped dates... everything done to perfection. The Ahi was the perfect temperature and the sauce really made it pop; slightly sweet with just a little kick. The BLT slider had more lobster on it than some full-sized sandwiches I've had in other places and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The lamb meatball dish was the perfect size for sharing and was my husband's fave. Our server was friendly without being obnoxious and was very attentive to us. Each dish came out perfectly paced so there were no pile-ups or long periods without anything on the table. Can't wait to return to Lake Tahoe and dine here again!

Its easy to give this place five stars because everything we ordered was scrumptious. We went in during the happy hour and sampled six of their menu choices. 1. Buttersquash Soup. This is a staple at many fine restaurants and they all taste good but standard. Bite gives it a secret ingredient and it's YUMMY! I don't know what it is but it's GOOD. 2. Forgot the name of the salad but even as a happy hour item, it was good and enough to share. 3. Fiery Honey Ribs Good, sticky and Fiery! Meat falls off the bones! 4. Sweet potatoe fries. Standard but they serve it with some good dipping sauce. 5. White Bean Ragout. I'm not a bean person but my husband said it was really good. 6. Short Rib Sliders. This was our favorite. Tender and savory, Melt in your mouth! The decor is simply chic. I think this is a great date place. Owner is also friendly without being phoney. Loved this place. We will be back.

I came here with a bunch of buddies for a bachelor party, and ok, this place is good, but NOT THAT GOOD. So before I begin, I gotta begin with the context. I've come to realize that Yelp's reviews are highly dependent on where all the reviewers are coming from. Where they come from will dictate, what they're comparing with. All 9 of us are from the San Francisco area, and a 4-5 star tapas restaurant is by far much better than Bite. So my 3 star rating was with that in mind. However, you also won't find many places like this in Tahoe. Ok, so that's my premise. Given that, here are the specifics. The FOOD: - Beef Tenderloin: tasty, but overcooked. - Halibut Fish tacos: bland and overcooked. - Lamb Chops (looked more like Lamb Shanks) : we got two orders. flavor was tasty. one was excellent, with a perfectly cooked red center. Other was overcooked. - Paella: Bland and soggy. Tasted like they used Hillshire sausages and chicken stock. Far from what paella ought to be. - Scallops: Great presentation, but oh so bland and a bit overcooked. - Sweet Potato Fries: meh, not bad! We ordered others, but aren't worth mentioning. The SERVICE: - GREAT, except the bus lady kept asking if she could take our dishes that still had food in it. No biggy. At least she asked before taking 'em. The AMBIENCE: - WONDERFUL. Great atmosphere for a bachelor party dinner!

I hadn't been to Incline in a few years when I decided to go on Yelp and look up a few places I saw this one. It had some good reviews and we wanted to check it out. The outside looks like every place in Incline, boring and unattractive but once you go inside this place you are greeted with a warm welcome. My friends and I decied to sit in the bar and or some "tapas". Inside is really nice and modern. There is bar on one side and the restaurant on the other. This place was pretty packed with 20 and 30 somethings at 8 on a Saturday night. It kind of reminded me of San Francisco restaurants. The 'scenery' was pretty good also. They had a DJ going but for some reason didn't take requests. I ordered some chicken cordon bleu sliders and they were pretty good. We also ordered a few rounds of beer at a resaonable Incline price. I'd have to say this was quite a shock to see a place like this in Incline; they just need a few more and I'd go more often. All in all a pretty good place to check out if you want something modern and up to date.

My husband and I have our second home in Incline. What a jewel in our community! Bite is perfect. Ahi sliders, fish tacos, anything!! Don't forget desserts! And the gourmet cocktails, plus the wonderful staff, from kitchen to the front of the house. Lori M.

The lovely lady and I were in the mood for something light. Not wanting to eat at the Cal Neva, we decided to check Yelp and try our luck with the local fare. I'm glad we did. Driving over to Incline Village, we walked into Bite not knowing to expect. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly gave us a menu. We decided to try the Short Rib Sliders and Mac and Cheese (Spicy). Both were surprisingly tasty as well as affordable. If we weren't so tired, we would have stayed longer and enjoy some beverages. Anyways, when we're back up there, we'll drop by.

I've been here several times and have enjoyed it every time, but am just now getting around to reviewing. We visited again this past weekend, and had the gnocchi, baby greens salad with blue cheese grapefruit and candied walnuts, ahi sliders, cheeseburger sliders, and shrimp gumbo. Honestly, everything was delicious. The gnocchi stands out especially because of how tender and tasty it was. The only issue with this place is that service is inconsistent. We stood at the door a full 5 minutes before anyone came by to seat us, although a blonde female server passed by several times and never acknowledged us. I'm giving this place a 4 because some dishes we've ordered in the past were not stellar, but still solid (the shrimp tempura and spinach side dish come to mind).

I'm a fan and a local. But, have to say when we dined at the bar on 12/28 was disappointed in the service. The bartender certainly treated us very differently than normal - actually ignoring us most of the time. While busy and the food took a while to get to us - no communication which is frustrating. And, while can understand - no happy hour even though it's advertised on their website - need to do something about that as well. So, all in all was very disappointed in our experience this time. Will think twice next time the town in busy.

I come up to Bite from Reno when I want to have a special night. Lots of tasty treats on the menu, especially the sliders and fries. I also somehow always get a dessert, all of which are great. Also have to mention the good post-dinner coffee. Good place for a treat, a cocktail or beer and to watch a game or just BS with cool people up in Incline.

Great atmosphere, and a truly amazing meal. I enjoyed each and every bite. We had: Ahi Sliders Grilled Cheese Shortrib Sliders Cheese Plate The ahi was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful spice blend. The grilled cheese was crispy and perfect. I would definitely go back!

Great food and happy hour deals on wine and food. Nice atmosphere and fun for groups where you can try just about everything on the menu! The ribs and onion rings were my favorite. All the sliders were good but on "mcdonalds" grade white bread buns. Soft and tasty but bakery bread would have helped. Dessert was just OK. I do live in Sonoma Co where there are some serious 5 star tapa places( Willi's and Petit Syrah)- This place would rank a 3 where I live. That being noted Bite is one of the better places we ate in Tahoe and worth a visit.

Amazing food. Great ambiance. Excellent bar offerings. Not the place to go if you're looking to save a buck. But the price is well worth it! My boyfriend and I opted to sit at the bar, and we were glad we did. The bartender was friendly and obviously very talented at what she does (I would just watch her mixing drinks like it was a magic show). Portions were variable depending on the dish, but as far as tapas-style restaurants go, we felt the portions were decent. The Devils on Horseback, Rocket Salad and Ice Cream Sandwiches particularly stood out to me as great selections. Will definitely come back on our next Tahoe visit.

Heard about bite from a friend of mine after moving to Incline from SF. Sooo glad he did. Worried I would have to head back to the city for a good experience, Bite put me at ease. The place is modern with a good touch of funk but not obnoxious. More importantly the food is really good. The veggie flautas are incredible. I've been a little tipsy and forced friends to go there just for a plate. Speaking of tipsy, the gazpacho is real nice too. So much so that the waiter indulged my odd request of putting some in a glass with vodka for an experimental hair of the dog concoction....the verdict? good but stick with the bloodies. The wine list is also solid. I've settled on a duet of spanish white and red as the meal goes on. And dessert? The tiramisu rocks the basin!!

wouldn't recommend mortgaging the house by filling up at bite. going in anyone knows that tapas and small plates aren't gonna fill you unless you order alot of them. we opted for a light meal and only tried their ahi sliders, fiery honey baby back ribs and their special of the day of prawns stuffed with breading and manchego cheese among other things. i do agree the ahi sliders are exceptional from the main ingredient of ahi all the way to the bun itself. it will cost you though at market price. the baby back ribs were smoked and tender but a tad dry. the sauce is not too fiery, actually pleasant. the stuffed prawns were not flavorfu enough desperately needing some punch. there is plenty of room at the tables and the hostess and waitstaff are all very good. certainly a change of pace for the restaurants in incline village but hard for me to recommend based on the value.

The atmosphere here is super cool, don't let the outside fool you! Nice bar and separate dining area, with a funky fresh jazzy feel. Fun for a dressy girls night out! The food was amazing! My friend and I shared the cheese plate (came with honey and fig jam and little toast bits and two kinds of super yummy cheese) Chinese chopped salad, refreshing and light! The Ahi sliders super tasty and the Scallop plate (saffron and butter!) was the best part of the night, a true finale! The wait staff was friendly and attentive and even gave us little tinsy bites of cheesecakes to try since we were too full to order a full desert! If ever in the Incline Village, you should check this place out!

so this was my third visit to bite, trying to be adventurous with the choice of foods. I guess the idea of being able to have small portions of tasty american grub at not feeling like you're bloating yourself works out really well. Must tries: Squash Soup (guaranteed butter 25% content) Ahi Sliders Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders Mac N' Cheese.....N' Bacon The gnocchi was pretty good too, but overpowering cheese sauce.

This is a cozy trendy place with so much to make it a memorable experience! The cocktails are fresh and inventive. We tried the white bean dip, jerk shrimp, scallops, lamb and paella. They were all a delight and I would recommend all the dishes!

Amazing addition to the Incline Village dining/wine scene - here is what you must have: 1. Spinach salad with bacon and apricots 2. Grilled jerk prawns with jicama 3. Pan seared scallops with saffron 4. Paella with andoulle sauage and saffron and shrimp rice Do yourself a favor and order a bottle of the Watershed Shiraz - an amazing food /wine experience where you least expect it- support this restaurant so we can all continue to enjoy it...

Wow! Finally a great restaurant in the Incline Village area! This is a very different type of restaurant that's been in the N. Shore area for the 30 years I've been coming here with family/friends to get away. This is a nice, new Tapas (or small plates) style restaurant. There is quite a nice selection of plates for everyone to choose from. I went with my Bro and Sister and we ordered the following 6 dishes: crab cakes, prawns, grilled lamb chops, duck leg confit (a special for the evening), ahi sliders, and Shepherd's pie. I know, I know - a very strange mix, but it's really reflective of the type of variety on the menu. The crab cakes were very good and the tarragon sauce accompanying the dish was not overpowering - light, slightly crispy and a good amount of crab. The prawns were also very good, with a nice citrus based glaze and were cooked just right (I am very picky about the doneness and the texture of my shrimp). The lamb chops were simply excellent. Lolly-pop style chops that were grilled perfectly - and no gaminess either. Once of the best lamb dishes I have eaten - anywhere. More please? Yes! The place is known for quite a wide variety of sliders and we ordered the Ahi sliders on the recommendation of the waiter - they were excellent. Sushi grade Ahi served up on a bun (my only complaint is that I would have preferred a bakery or home style slider bun here). The Shepherd's pie was VERY different. According to the waiter, this is the chef's home recipe and while it had the typical meat, peas, potatoes, etc - it also contained some very nice curry with a little bite. I've never had a Shepherd's pie like this, but it was very good. It would be perfect as comfort food after a long day skiing in the winter at Diamond Peak. The only disappointing dish was the duck leg confit. The duck was very nice and perfectly cooked, but the curry base sauce (while tasty and spicy) was too overpowering for the dish. Most people would probably not know it was duck they were eating because the sauce drowned it out considerably. For dessert we ordered 2 dishes: the apple turnovers and the chocolate cake. The turnovers were amazing - 4 bite sized mini pastries filled with cinnamon and apple, cooked to perfect light crispiness and drizzled in a caramel sauce. OMG! They were served quite warm, fresh, and were absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake was also very good. There were four medium bites of moist dark chocolate cake (but not bitter) with chocolate frosting and drizzled with a wonderful vanilla cream. They reminded me of Hostess Cupcakes in appearance. They were very good - and very gone - quickly! The rest: The service from both the hostess and our waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. They are very laid back but also quite professional. They are smart and leave small water pitchers on the table - and honestly, who doesn't love Tahoe tap??? The interior has both a bar area and a small dining room. We ate in the dining room but both are very comfortable. For the drinkers: a full bar and simple but eclectic wine list with many tastes to choose from as well as glass and bottle. Nothing over-the-top expensive here which is nice. Prices: Average for a Tapas restaurant. More pricey then maybe the typical sit-down restaurant, but well worth it in terms of food quality, freshness of ingredients, preparation and plate appearance and the variety on the menu. It may be Tapas, but they do not shortchange you on the portions. 6 plates was more than enough for the three of us. Your waiter will also guide you on portion size. Ice Tea Rating: 4 out of 5. A nice dark blend of actual brewed tea and always kept filled - which is important. I am an iced tea snob you know ;-) Overall: 4 out of 5. You would be hard pressed to find a better meal for the value anywhere in the North Lake Tahoe area. Very good! And I will be back!!!

Go for the food, NOT the service (using the term loosely). If you are not a local or BFF of the bartender or waitstaff, don't expect much in the way of service. The focus of the bartender (on several different occasions) is taking care of his buddies. Becomes hard of hearing when a non-buddy is in need of food or beverages. Comical at first, becoming increasingly annoying. Too many other good spots in Incline to tolerate this. Would NOT recommend to people we like.

My girlfriend and I went there on the July 4th weekend - very nice!! I have to say that I was quite skeptical when I read American Tapas - but was very surprised. Very good service, delicious food and great ambience. Only thing stopping me from giving this place a 5/5 is that the Halibut tacos were - 'meh. Apart from that, the beef rib sliders, risotto balls, rocket salad, and the chocolate cake - very very good! Highly recommended place.

Bite describes itself as "American Tapas". It clearly is a "hip" place among the locals and the tourists "in the know". We had a light dinner and were able to get in an out quickly. Given the large parties that were in the dining room and the fact that they do not take reservations for groups smaller than 6, I suspect that were were able to get a table (and thus get in and out quickly) because we arrived at 6pm. I would not be surprised if a different combination of later dinner and heavier weekend (we were mid-May), might have added up to a long wait. We split a Chinese Chicken Salad that had slightly too much dressing but was otherwise perfect. The size was just right for two (not too much and not too little). The combinations of tastes (including cashews, Mandarin Orange chunks, other delights) was well balanced and not too overwhelming. We also split two of their "slider" dishes -- Ahi Tuna and Philly Cheese-steak. Both were well made and appropriately proportioned for a "tapas-style" dish. The Ahi was sushi-grade, seared perfectly and served with arugula (or "rocket"). The taste was wonderful (and simple). I can only find disappointment in the plain-white hamburger bun that it was served in. Of course, this was billed as a "slider" so there really can't be much fault in their choice. There is nothing much to say about the Philly Cheese-steak slider...it was exactly what you would expect from a dish bearing that name. The one thing that stuck out was the service. It was attentive without being intrusive. They were busy, yet our water glasses never got less than 1/4 full. The hostess did not "hang out" at the hostess stand but rather ran "pseudo-waitress" through the dining room -- offering any additions (e.g., drink refills, check) that seemed needed. Overall it was a really good experience. 4 stars in our book.

Bite is unique with American tapas in a relaxed and casual setting. Flavors of every dish we ordered were wonderful and the service enhanced the dining experience. This is my new favorite place to dine, especially sharing it with friends.

Let's get the negatives of the way: It may seem expensive because you're paying a lot for small plates. I would recommend two plates, a couple of salads, and a plate to share for two people. That will probably cost you $60 or so with tip, more with drinks. If that puts you off, go have a Big Mac. I happen to like small tapas-style plates because most restaurants serve you too much food. Here you get to sample different things. This food is really special. I had halibut in an orange sauce with pickled fennel (I know, I know, huh). One of the best dishes I've ever eaten, the fennel working perfectly with the fish. My wife had chicken sliders which she pronounced delicious. We were eating lightly so just shared a salad of field greens with blue cheese and pecans--ambrosia. I'd like to eat through the whole menu. Service was excellent.

We were at Incline Village for a wedding this weekend, and the rehearsal dinner was at Bite. From the outside it seems a little strange, but the inside is awesome! The colors and decor are adorable and the food was great! The short rib sliders were definitely the best thing we had! The bar was a great place to hang out after dinner, and their house red was decent (it's what we had with dinner). I would go back anytime we go to Tahoe!

Wonderful food. We ate here two nights in a row since there were so many great things to eat on the menu. A bit noisy when full but it's such a great place we didn't mind. We ate at the bar the second night and had service equal to the prior night when we sat at a table

We traveled to Lake Tahoe for a weekend with friends and Bite was recommended by the hotel. We had a great time! The place is really cute and had a great vibe. Our server, Shannon G was wonderful! She was very nice and patient with all of our questions and gave us some great food suggestions. Every item on the menu looked good and we were not disappointed in any of the items we chose. I have to say, the goat cheese sliders, risotto balls and Tuscan grilled cheese were out of this world! We had all commented how impressed we were that ALL of the items we picked were delicious. At many tapas restaurants, you typically don't find that everything you pick you want seconds of!

As good as it gets! The lamb was perfect, the sauce divine. We also had the sole (same perfection). Wine list is great and the service (along with the recommendations), spot on. The soup was just a tad bland...but you could tell everything was ultra fresh. Veggies were a little crisp -- but I like them like that~ Went for happy hour but discovered all the tables were tall and my elderly mother could not climb into the chairs....so we sat in the dining area. At first we were told we could not get the happy hour prices in the dining room, but when I noted the disability issue, the manager agreed to let us have the discount. So, food, service and just good solid folks give this a 5 star rating for me.

This place is excellent! We ordered 5 vegetarian dishes - the chili Mac and cheese, and the lettuce chickpeas in masala were awesome! So we're the grilled cheese bites and the pepper cheese bites. Creative chef. Not your average place. Great service and quick.

I think this is our 3rd or 4th year going and Bite still has teeth. Dropped in last night for a light meal as we weren't too hungry so we ordered a few standbys: the onion strings, the grilled cheese bites, and the mahi-mahi fish tacos. The first two were perfect, the tacos were fine though could've used a tangier or more flavorful salsa. Our friends brought us some chocolate bread pudding the night before and it was decadent. See you next year Bite!

Not sure what we wanted for dinner so I checked yelp to see what was close. And I saw a tapas place heck yeah!!! This place did not disappoint it was fabulous!!!! We started with a deconstructed wedge salad with point Reyes blue cheese, mahi mahi tacos, spicy honey bourbon shrimp on white cheddar grits, skinny onion rings, and also the ribs. Although the onion rings were good I would not order them again they were too hard to eat. We had to take the ribs and rings home because we were too full and ate them about three hours later and the ribs were amazing! The staff was wonderful and attentive and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable. I will be taking the short drive back soon because that shrimp and grits are calling me!!!!

Most delicious food in Incline (in my opinion). Service and food are spectacular every time we dine in. It is tapas style, so it's great to share small plates with the table. We usually order several things, and it's perfect to share amongst four people (usually 3-4 items on a plate). Our faves: salads, ribs, fillet, fish tacos, veggies, desserts...just about everything. Every dish has the perfect amount of flavor. Ambience is very nice; noise level is sometimes loud (but more so in the bar area than the main restaurant). Reservations are available for parties of 6 or more, otherwise it's first come first serve. Longest we've had to wait on a Friday night on a holiday weekend was 30 min. Love The Bite!

  • Lin Z.

We still love Bite! There was no Happy Hour on this visit (during the prime summer weeks some Incline restaurants seem to do away with this because no lure is necessary), but portions feel generous for the prices. Our party of five got 2 dishes each, plus onion rings, Mac & cheese, bacon wrapped dates and asparagus starters. The onion rings are a basket of super skinny, dusted crisp fried rings-- amazing and inhale-able. Table favorites were the scallops, bourbon shrimp & grits, ahi tuna sliders and the jambalaya. We shared apple turnovers and passion fruit sorbet for dessert. It's not inexpensive ($170 w/o tip) with dessert and one glass of wine. But we left happy and satiated.

Headed into Bite per recommendation for our family friend and long time Tahoe local... Stopped in at 5:15pm on a Saturday... There were a few patrons but mostly quiet, that changed closer to 6pm. We ordered a few drinks from the bar. We were seated next to the TV so my husband was slightly distracted by the preseason football. I however was fine with that because the food kept me busy!!! We had 9:30pm dinner reservations so this stop was really about keeping ourselves from getting HANGRY. We ordered the fried chicken sliders and the regular beef sliders both were delicious but the fried chicken sliders were out of this world. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, lightly breaded & topped with a fabulous slaw. The portions were great and we each had one slider of each (each order comes with 2 sliders)... I regret not calling dibs on both fried chicken sliders but that would have been very selfish. We also had the onion straws which were not my favorite but my Husband dug them. Instead I ordered the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches & was very happy with the adorable presentation & taste!! If this place was open on Sunday for lunch we'd be stopping by again before heading back to the Bay Area but sadly it's not. Next time I will order the fried chicken sliders all for myself.

Definitely crowd-pleaser deliciousness. Lobster BLT sliders, I mean c'mon. The menu is really like upscale gastropub comfort deliciousness in your face. The one unexpected thing was how the full bar area is massive! Was it bigger than the dining room? I think the bar area was more fun to sit in with tall tables, and bar seating all around 3 sides of the bar in the center. Good times.

I've been to this place every time I've visited Incline and will say I've not had a bad plate here. The wait staff was always very friendly and accommodating. The bar makes a mean cocktail and wine selection was very good. Atmosphere here is fun and energetic, maybe a bit much if you want a quiet meal. The Tapas dishes are always great, like I said have not had a bad plate here. The bacon wrapped dates, ahi sliders, and Lamb Meatballs were incredibly flavorful and uniquely satisfying. Highly recommended for anybody visiting incline or wanting a fun and interesting dining experience. Will definitely be back!

Incredible. The best meal we've ever had in our married life. It was everything you'd wish for in a restaurant. We were seated immediately, without a reservation, even though nearly all the tables were full (party of two). Our waitress came over right away and was professional, but not obnoxiously peppy. She gave us great recommendations and was attentive the entire night. The atmosphere was perfect, lower lighting, but not dark and light background music. To top it all off, the price was spot on, especially for tapas. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, the deviled eggs, the chicken sriracha sliders, the grilled asparagus, the baby back ribs, and the gnocchi. Honestly, everything was incredible. Our favorite had to be the gnocchi, which is hard to say because everything we tasted was amazing. Normally with a higher tab at a restaurant I reconsider if it was worth it... when I walked out of this place, I thought to myself "worth every dime!".

Bite can bite me....My friends and I made a reservation for 9:30-9:45p. We explained that included in our party were two members of the orchestra that were performing in the Summerfest. We were told that it would not be a problem... Upon our timely arrival we were "welcomed" with "there's no guarantee you will be able to order and eat. We were lead to our table and again told that we needed to order as soon as possible because the kitchen was closing. We explained that we had made reservations and were told we would be able to eat. We were told that we were only guaranteed a sitting. Really? Sit and not eat? Ridiculous. Our waiter was very leisurely and pleasant and did not rush us at all... Didn't make any sense. Regarding the food. Deviled eggs and sliders were great. Chinese chicken salad was subpar, as was the macaroni and cheese. White bean dip was bland. Key lime pie very good. The next day we went for some key lime pie to go. We arrived at 8:50 p, restaurant closes at 10p. We asked if we could get some pie to go. We were told "I don't think we can do that" Then we were told yes we could get pie to go. We waited approximately 20-25 minutes. We sat at the bar where we were ignored for 15 minutes then asked if we needed anything. Pie came and was place in the middle of the bar, we were seated near the front door. It sat there and we let the hostess know we thought our pie was there. She went to collect and took time to visit before bringing it back. I saw a a coupon for the Summerfest in the check jacket, I think it was $20 off a ticket... Too bad they don't cater to the concerts musicians or patrons. BITE ME BITE....

Ordered: Ahi Sliders; Grilled Cheese Bites; Grilled Filet Mignon Bites; House Cut Matchstick Fries; Green Chili Mac n' Cheese Skillet; Hand Pattied Cheeseburger Sliders What to get: Hand Pattied Cheeseburger Sliders; Ahi Sliders; Grilled Cheese Bites; Green Chili Mac n' Cheese Skillet Great dinner that I had right before I skied the first time in my life the next day. Everything came out at a well-paced time right after it was cooked - really nice and hot once it hit the table. Fyi, the sliders comes in two. Hand Pattied Cheeseburger Sliders: these came out first and the buns were toasted to a nice crispiness on the interior and the patty was just juicy and hot. It's a perfect-sized burger when you just want a bite. Ahi Sliders: the bun was similar to the ones used for the burger sliders. I thought the bun was too thick for the dish and dulled the freshness of the fish, but it was great for the former dish. The sauce was over-dabbled on it. Grilled Cheese Bites: so much cheese and it was great, only wished I got the tomato soup to go with this. House Cut Matchstick Fries: something crisp to nibble on in between dishes. Filet Mignon Bites: this was a bit of a letdown, since the meat was too tough. It was lacking in the savory department, since the meat itself seemed to rely on a dull sauce. Green Chili Mac n' Cheese Skillet: warm, gooey, cheesiness as expected :)

Service and quality have gone down over this past year. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in incline but recently they cut down on some of my menu favorites and got new servers who I am unimpressed with. Because the arugula salad is no longer offered :( we got the butter lettuce salad to start most recently and it was sooo bland. Blah. Don't get, skip it. No more sweet potato fries :( so we got the matchstick fries instead. Still good but not as healthy. They still don't have soy or almond milk (or even skim milk) to offer customers with their coffee and tea selections. It's not that hard to offer so I don't understand why they only offer whole milk after a few years of being in biz under their belts, as I'm sure they get that request quite often. Some old favorites that are still on the menu: grilled cheese bites. Fish lovers will like the tacos. Desserts are all good. This is still a great restaurant and the fun family style sharing allows you to try many different things, but I've definitely noticed some changes.

Casual atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. We had the white bean dip, honey bourbon shrimp, baby back ribs, and filet mignon bites. The ribs stole the show with the shrimp a close second. I would definitely eat here again. Dined here on 6/6/15.

I went here last weekend while on a ski trip to Tahoe. Overall, the food was tasty and satisfying. The ambience of the restaurant was nice, and I would definitely recommend the food here. Cheeseburger Sliders (4/5) - The meat was cooked nicely. Standard burgers, but executed well. Ahi Sliders (4/5) - A nice lighter bite compared to the rest of our meal. Whenever I see something with Seared Tuna on a menu, I usually order it, and this did not disappoint! Grilled Cheese Bites (5/5) - My favorite dish of the night. Nice, crispy bread, gooey cheese, and a light tomato to add some acidity. Grilled Filet Mignon Bites (2.5/5) - I could have done without ordering this dish. The meat was definitely overcooked. I also wasn't a big fan of the redeye bbq sauce. It was a little too deep in coffee flavor for my taste. House Cut Matchstick Fries (5/5) - Nice, crispy, salty fries. I couldn't stop eating them. Green Chili Mac n' Cheese Skillet (4/5) - We received this plate lasts, so I couldn't eat much of it because of the heavy cheese. I definitely could have eaten much more of this if I weren't so full though. I really enjoyed the slight kick from the green chili, which added some freshness to a pretty rich dish. Although I enjoyed the food, service was definitely pretty slow. We got a couple dishes immediately, but we had about a 25 minute gap in the middle where we had no food on the table. I'm also pretty sure that I saw a couple of the waiters pour the leftover wine from a table's decanter into a glass for themselves, which was pretty unprofessional. I understand that it was near closing time on a Friday, but it seemed strange that they were doing that and giggling where customers could see them.

Our server was Benjamin and he was awesome! Unfortunately they were out of most of the items I wanted to try. The Bacon Wrapped Dates, Gumbo & Apple Tarts were not available. We had the Deviled Eggs, shrimp & grits, beef slider and sweet chile glazed baby back ribs. Everything was delicious!

My son, fiance, and I came here after a long hike on July 5th because it was recommended to us. The reviews were amazing so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a female who rudely asked "If she could help us with something" as if we did not belong. We then said we had a party of three. She then stated there was a 20min wait. As we turned away we see two open tables. I felt completely disrespected. Customer service is VERY IMPORTANT to us. So I must say maybe the food is great but we will never go back due to the terrible experience. Instead we went to a great Thai restaurant in the same parking lot. The Thai food was AMAZING and even more important they had WONDERFUL customer service.

We walked into this place on 4th of July weekend for dinner and were seated almost right away despite the crowd! The gnocchi, deviled eggs and mac and cheese were phenomenal! The sliders were pretty good as well and the wine selection by the glass was impressive. The service was a tad slow and they were out of a popular menu item (lettuce wraps), but overall, a great dining experience! They had a nice selection of small bites and large bites (to share). Note the gnocchi are not really shareable for those of us with large appetites. The salads were definitely meant to share though.

Yummy! I love Bite! Food and drinks are always amazing, I'd say let me write out my favorites but I really love it all! The grilled cheese, scallops, shrimp/grits, and filet bites are always my go to. Although the dates are especially good. The sliders are really filling and delicious too!

We heard this was THE place to eat, so my husband & I went with our two daughters (10 & 14) last night for our first meal while on vacation in Incline Village. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is hip & fun, and the food was all very tasty. I had the shrimp & grits and the white bean dip. The dip was amazing! Ice cream sandwiches were yummy too. So many great options on the menu that it was hard to decide. Fun serving portions & I like how they bring things out continually (not all at once).

Nice Atmosphere, great wait service; food was a mixed bag- wild fish tacos were very dry, seared Ahi sliders- tuna was refrigerator cold at center, grapefruit beet fennel salad with butter lettuce was excellent! Think it was worth a second try, a interesting variety on the menu!

I have dined here twice and both times have been great. The dishes are delicious, and true to form as they will explain. The small bites are pretty dang small, but delicious. The bacon wrapped dates are superb-) is . The mahi sliders are amazing! Could order like 4 servings! The second time we dined here, Lauren server us and she was wonderful! She had a great knowledge of the menu, and set the tone for a great dining experience. She was very laid back but professional. She certainly made the night for us! We will request her next time!

Go early!! After doing a few nature walks in the cold, and a small lunch, we decided to have an early dinner. We arrived at 5pm not at all expecting to be lined up behind 5 other people! The hostess was efficient and quickly got everyone seated. Our waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. All of the food was served promptly and hot. We started with the bacon wrapped bleu cheese stuffed dates-- can't go wrong with these savory sweet bites. Next up was the gumbo, we ordered 2 bowls to share between 3 people (our 4th can't eat shellfish). I was disappointed that the waitress didn't take the initiative and bring extra spoons. The deviled eggs were nothing special. However, though you'd think it's just veggies--the broccolini was so flavorful and had a perfect texture between crunchy and soft. My favorite dishes of the night were the duck confit sliders. The duck was melt in your mouth and paired nicely with the buttery bun and sweet fig jam (It was a week ago and I think it was fig, but the menu doesn't say online). The fusilli and cheese (they don't use macaroni) is a great deal--don't miss it. It's creamy and rich. A very large portion too! Another great item was the lamb meatballs, very flavorful and I enjoyed the chimichurri and crunchy bread it was served with. Overall we had a lovely meal here, nice service, and delicious food. It was about $80 for our meal, plus one glass of wine and we were all satiated, but not stuffed at the end.

Everything we had here was great, even the service. A perfectly made martini and great beer selection. We started with the paquilla peppers and the made our way through the spinach and arugula salad. For our mains we had the chickpea wraps, lamb meatballs and green chili Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese tasted like jalapeño poppers which I love. The lamb meatballs came with an amazing mint sauce that was like a pesto. The chickpea wraps tasted delicious as well. We talked about coming back even before we finished so we could try more.

We come here every year when we visit Lake Tahoe. You can't go wrong with anything off the menu. We love the bacon wrapped dates and cheese plate bites. On our last visit we enjoyed the fried chicken sliders and spicy bourbon shrimp. The shrimp plate came with 5 average sized shrimp. They were not really spicy, but had a good flavor to them. For dessert we got the chocolate bread pudding with ice cream and its paired Port. The bread pudding was very sweet- I could crunch the sugar in the dessert in my mouth which is overkill for me. My husband liked it more than myself. Beware this is a super sweet dessert. The portion was big, like a typical dessert size at any other restaurant- they just cut it up into 4 small portions. It would be good to share with 3-4 ppl who just want a small bite of something sweet. The service is great. Loved our waiter and the manager came by a few times to check on us. Overall, it was a great meal, with attentive staff and who can't love the modern industrial style ambiance.

This is a must go! We are total foodies and we were so impressed! Everything that we tried on the menu was absolutely delicious- from the fried chicken sliders to the mac n cheese, to the short ribs. So yummy! We will definitely come every time we are in the area.

Everything was fantastic - the food, the service, and the vibe were all top-notch! The Bacon Lobster Tomato Sliders were from another universe; probably the same universe that created their Shrimp n Grits. Only downside (and I'm reaching here) is that it's not a ton of food for the $, but it's an app-joint, so the focus is on flavor rather than filler. Hands-down, best restaurant in town!

A 20-minute wait in the very noisy bar was worth it ... our meal was delicious and fun to share. The dining room has a pleasant décor -- lots of grey, black, and white Still a bit hard to hold a conversation. On any future visits, DH and I would pass on the bacon-wrapped dates. While tasty, they were a bit on the sweet side and very small. Could only detect the Pt. Reyes blue cheese in one of the dates. The sausage and shrimp gumbo had such the right amount of spice. We followed that with the Moroccan lamb meat balls. They were the highlight of our meal. A stout for DH and a Rhone Blend for me were good beverage choices for the meal. We ended with the apple turnovers. Our meal was under $60. If we had not had Happy Hour snacks beforehand, we would have ordered another dish or two. So I can see that the average bill would be more in the range of $40 and up per person. Would like to give Bite another try on our next visit to Incline as there are more items that sound worth trying.

Amazing tapas spot in Incline! Was recommended on Twitter by a sports journalist, so my husband said we had to try it. Food was delicious, drinks were tasty, and staff was awesome! Thanks for the experience!

Good but not great. The food was tasty but well overpriced. 4 small bacon wrapped dates for $5 (granted I have a big mouth but I could eat all of them at once). 2 small sliders for $10. A meal for 2 hits $50 easy. The colors in the restaurant are depressing, drab blues and grays that give a municipal vibe. Service was good and staff was friendly.

It's just food. Better than your average pizza place? Sure. But it's just food. If you want some relatively decent food, go here. It's just a place. A place to eat. They have a bar. So they've got that going for them...which is nice.

Overrated, and expensive. The risotto balls were extremely salty. I do not recommend them. The scallop ceviche was 90 percent lime, 5 percent onion, and 5 percent salty fish. My alcoholic beverage was quite good (hence the two stars) I got "The Rover" which was part bourbon and lavender. Really delicious. But alcohol will not be enough to tempt me back to this mediocre place. I will not return .

Best meal of my life. Ordered: Chinese Chicken Salad, Duck Confit Sliders, Ahi Ahi Tacos, Rancher's Pie, and Green Chile Mac & Cheese. I can't event describe how awesome the food was. Favorite dish was the Ahi Ahi Tacos. Tacos were well-dressed with cabbage, cilantro, and a moderately spicy chipotle sauce. The rancher's pie was, also, excellent (a spin-off of a shepard's pie, but included beef in lieu of lamb). Great ambiance inside (doesn't look like much from outside). But juxtaposition between the light and shade really makes the location feel more comfortable and private than it is. Phenomenal service. Waitress was welcoming and patient. 100% will go back.

Everything we tried was great except the French fries. The highlight was the pickled ginger on the scallops and my sons face when eating the hamburger sliders. Bacon wrapped dated, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, shrimp and filet was yummy! The ambience is quite chic but comfortable. Service was top notch!

Very confused as to how this place has almost 5 stars. Bite was recommended to us by some Tahoe locals so we thought we'd try it for a lighter dinner. We sat right away with no reservation but then waited about 15 mins to even place a drink order. For dinner, we tried the shaved brussel sprouts, glazed ribs, and the filet mignon bites. Of the 3, the ribs were the most edible. The brussel sprouts were pretty soggy with an odd flavoring. The filet mignon was questionable (at best) but came with mashed potatoes that were pretty decent. The best part of the night was the dessert. We had the warm chocolate bread pudding that actually tasted fresh with vanilla ice cream. I would not recommend a visit here

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night post snowboarding. It's a close by spot in a strip mall in Incline village. Loud bar atmosphere upon entering the place, we were seated by the window at 9pm in the back dining room which was slightly quieter. Food: the 2 of us dined on the following: - arugula salad: clean, crisp arugula, ruffled red beet chips, tangy goat cheese, garlic apple vinaigrette. Yum! - BLLT sliders: $20 for 2. Bacon, lobster, lettuce, tomato on a sweet slider toasted bun. The meat was hot and the lettuce was not soggy. I scarfed it down! Best dish of the night - seared scallops: decent but they sliced 2 scallops in half to make it seem like 4 pcs - filet mignon "bites": came with mashed potato, shoe string onion rings and a horse radish sauce. Great but the meat was well done instead of medium rare. Overall great quality of food, as always tapas will be more on the expensive side. Will definitely return!

What a phenomenal restaurant, which I will now be frequenting every time I'm in Tahoe. Everything was excellent: Lamb Meatballs, Bacon and Lobster sliders, Filet Bites, ice cream sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and check this place out

I cannot rave about this place enough! How does it not have 5 stars?! My fiancé, a friend, and I went here after a fun day of swimming and playing at the beach. We shared 7 different things: cheese plate, BLT lobster sliders (2 orders), extra thin onion strings, seared scallops, honey bourbon shrimp, green chile mac and cheese, and the Moroccan spiced lamb meatballs. (We were starving, don't judge!) Absolutely everything was divine, cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the bartenders and wait staff were super friendly and helpful. My favorite was the BLT lobster sliders and we will be back the next time we are in Incline!

really good definitely good place to go and get few small plates and share. Definitely a good selection of beers. Had the lamb meet balls really good Definitely worth getting. The chicken hash is outstanding I don't like brussel sprouts and could not even taste them. Really recommend it. Grilled cheese bites also worth to share. Dish. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable Definitely returning.
